I stare out at the misty courtyard as I wait for class to end. Counting the dew drops on the window as I listen to the clock tick, tick, ticking. I loved Mrs. Sancoeur's class because she was always so nice to me. She reminded me of my mother. I missed her so much.

"Marinette!" Lila screamed, attempting to wake me from my trance.

It had been hard for me to focus on school these past few days. So many distractions in the outside world. So many adventures and activities that I never got to be any part of. My modeling and extracurricular schedules really kept me busy. Not to mention, my father is distant and strict. He never lets me go outside, it's always "Too dangerous". I get what he means, akuma attacks have become a lot more frequent, but I could still handle myself out there.

"MARINETTE!" Lila screamed one last time. This time, I snapped out of my dream-like state.

"Yes, Lila?" I said, a little annoyed.

"Girl, what are you doing? I've been trying to get your attention for like 10 minutes."

"Sorry, I guess I'm just a little out of it right now."

"Well, you better get back into it, girl, cause Mrs. Sancoeur just distributed partners for our next project. You're with Adrien."

Adrien? I liked Adrien. He was nice, and a really good friend. He's a little clumsy and doesn't make sense half of the time he talks to me, but he has a good heart... and his family makes the best baked goods in all of Paris.

"Great! At least I'm not paired with Sabrina. She has no work ethic." I quietly replied.

Sabrina wasn't as bad as people thought she was. I know why everyone hated her, but she's like a sister to me. At least, that's what we were like when we were kids. Now, we're more like estranged cousins. The love is there, but I don't like the way she acts and treats other people. Take Chloe for example, Sabrina walks all over her and forces Chloe to do her bidding. It's awful. At least Chloe's half-sister Zoe was there to help her out sometimes, but things just haven't felt the same this past year since she moved back to New York.

"Yeah, unfortunately I got stuck with her." Said Lila with a frown.

"That sucks, I was really hoping you and Max would get paired together. You guys are the dream team!" I winked.

"Well, maybe you and Adrien can become the new dream team?" Lila said with a sing-song tone.

"I don't know why you're always trying to get us together." I snapped back

"Because you two would make such a cute couple!"

"I don't think he sees me that way, and besides we're really good friends. I wouldn't want to put that in jeopardy."

Ring, Ring

"Saved by the bell." Lila replied.

I laughed.

Lila was my first friend other than Sabrina and Adrien. My first day of public school, she had my back, and has had it for the past two years. I met her first in middle school, and our relationship has only gotten stronger since. I wouldn't trade her friendship for anything in the world. She has even tried to stick up to my father for me. She wasn't very successful at any of her attempts, however, recently he's given me a bit more freedom. I was able to go on some school trips thanks to my friend Adrien, and I've been able to hang out with my friends way more often as well!

I started packing my things and headed out of the classroom. I was walking as slow as humanly possible dragging my feet behind me in a lazy manner. I knew, once I stepped outside, and my driver saw me, it would all be over. I did like my driver, he was okay with breaking the rules sometimes and was very protective of me. He really cared about me. It was nice having someone who actually did.

I walked all the way down the stairs outside of our classroom when I heard it.

"Ahhhhh!"

That scream could only come from one person.

Adrien.

He started falling down the stairs and I wasn't going to let him fall, so I swiftly caught him. No words came out of his mouth, he just stared.

"You okay, Adrien?" I asked.

"Yeah Marinette, I just fell for you-- I mean, down the stairs, thanks for kiss-- I mean, catching me!" He said with a big smile on his face.

"Yeah, it's no problem! Just be more careful next time!" I let out with a chuckle

"Haha y-yea." Adrien stuttered.

As I walked outside the building I felt the sun slowly warm my face. The rain had stopped. The sun was bright and warm. Its rays reaching through the breaking clouds. However, I was quite fond of the rain. If it was raining out, then my shoot for the day might be cancelled, which meant I could actually maybe go out and do something. The rain also holds a special place in my heart because it was raining when I met my very first, and a very special friend. He has always been nice to me and even gave me a lucky charm that I cherish every single day. We've been on adventures and he even took me out to my first concert, movie, and school trips. I loved him with all of my heart and cherish the friendship that has blossomed between us the past two years.

HONK

I heard, coming from my driver.

I rush down the steps and swiftly hop in the car. He shoots me a look and we're on our way. The rest of my day will be boring......

Until I sneak out later to go and hangout with the love of my life...
