Clang

The metal tray filled with macaroons fell to the ground. I watched as a wave of blue crumbs filled the clean floors.

Ugh. Why am I so clumsy?

Marinette is all the way at her house, probably studying for our physics test right now. She is miles away, and I still manage to make a fool of myself.

"You okay, Adrien?" Tikki asked while peeking her head out of the inside of my jacket.

"No! Am I ever really okay, Tikki?" I asked back.

"Everything will be okay, I promise. Just take a deep breath."

"How can I take a deep breath when I still have so much to do tonight?" I said, concerned.

The sun had just begun to set, I still had a pile of homework, and not too long from now, I have to go on patrol. On top of all of that, I now have to clean up this mess.

"How am I supposed to get everything done? I have patrol in an hour and my homework will take me at least two."

"Just do everything one at a time Adrien, it'll work itself out." Said Tikki.

"Thanks, you always know just what to say."

I cleaned up all of the crumbs on the floor and went up the stairs to my room. I liked my room. It was small, but still had everything I needed in it.

I started on my homework knowing it was about to be a long night.

-------

I woke up to a loud noise above me. I look down at the clock, 21:40.

Shit!

I think to myself. I must have fallen asleep while doing my homework. I missed patrol.

BANG

Another noise above me. I hop up onto my bed and open the hatch above me. I peeked my head out, just enough so I could see what was going on. A dark figure sat on my railing at the edge of the balcony. I tried to get a better look, but accidentally hit the hatch door causing it to fall on top of me.

It hit my head pretty hard, and whoever was out there definitely heard that loud thud I caused. I opened the hatch again, and this time the figure was right in front of me. I slowly looked up to find out who had climbed onto my roof at this late hour.

"Hey there, Adrikins" Said the tough female who stood before me.

The one and only Lady Noire.

"Hey there, what are you doing up here?" I said as I slowly climbed onto the roof.

"I was bored. Figured I'd stop by my number one fan's house!" She said jokingly.

"Well, you're always welcome here, I guess. Not like you ever bother to ask anyways."

"Ahh, you know you love me, Adrikins."

Adrikins was her little pet name for me. I guess it started sticking about a year ago when she started these visits. I never meant to stand her up when we were supposed to be on patrol. But between being the guardian, and school, and friends, and the bakery, I've had barely any time for anything. She understands that, but I still feel bad.

"So, what happened tonight? Did Misterbug not show again?" I asked with a strong feeling of guilt.

"Yea, this is the seventh time this month. I understand that he's busy but it still sucks." She said while looking out at the Paris skyline.
