I love her. I thought to myself.
I love her with every fiber of my being. She's just so amazing and funny and kind. She sits in front of me in Mrs. Sancoeur's class and I look forward to seeing her there every single day.
I can't even focus. There's so many times that I have been caught zoning out just thinking about her. Marinette is amazing and I would do almost anything for her to see me the same way that I see her.
I can't even think when we talk. I'm always a clumsy babbling mess. I never knew someone could do this to me. I never knew what love felt like till I met her two years ago.
I actually hated her at first. I thought she was just as stuck up and mean as her friend Sabrina. Sabrina has made my life a living hell, and I guess it's partly my fault. Sabrina had asked me out back in middle school and I rejected her in front of the whole school. I guess she still hasn't gotten over it.
The day that I met Marinette, she brought in a bunch of chocolate pastries for the class. She had bought them from my parent's bakery earlier, but I didn't see her there. Probably because I slept through my alarm and was almost late... like always. Sabrina decided to take one of the pastries Marinette brought and put it on my seat to make it look like I.... well, you know. I came into class and when I saw her, it looked like Marinette was trying to place it there for me to sit on (when she was only trying to take it off of my seat). I blamed her for the whole ordeal and ignored her the next few days. The only good thing about my first day of school that year was meeting Max. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have started standing up for myself when Sabrina messes with me.
"Yo, Adrien, you okay?" Asked Max.
"Huh? Yea! I'm great. Just thinking." I replied.
"Thinking about Marinette again, I bet." Whispered Max with a wink.
"Hey! Keep your voice down! She might hear you."
"Don't worry man, I'm sure she didn't."
"Whatever, pay attention. Mrs. Sancoeur is about to assign partners. I hope I get paired with Marinette"
"Okay," Mrs. Sancoeur stated. "I'm going to assign partners for our next class project. For this project, you and your partner are going to come up with a community service project, and the best one will actually be enacted by our own Mayor Raincomprix."
"Some of you might know him better as my daddykins." interrupted Sabrina.
"Yes, thank you Mrs. Raincomprix." Replied Mrs. Sancoeur with a touch of sarcasm. "Anyways, your partners for this project will be assigned by me. No swapping or complaints. This could also be a way for you guys to grow closer bonds with your fellow classmates. The first group is Lila and Max..."
As the teacher went on, I just kept thinking, and praying to be paired with Marinette. This could really be an opportunity for us to grow closer. With my luck though, that won't happen.
"...Group 4 is Kim and Sabrina..."
Thank god I won't be paired with her.
"... and our last group will be..... Adrien and Marinette."
Yes! We got paired together! I can't believe it. I looked her way for a quick second to see if she was happy with that pairing, but to my despair, she didn't even seem to have a reaction. Maybe she was zoning out? I hoped so.
Just at that thought, the bell rang. It took me a minute to gather all of my things. On my way out of the classroom, I figured I'd talk to Marinette about our project. Or, at least attempt to speak words to her.
I was at the top of the stairs when I caught a glimpse of her at the bottom. She was so beautiful. Her skin radiated with light. I was so distracted by her, that I tripped over myself and fell down the stairs.
Smooth.
I managed to let out a stifled shriek as I was falling, but then I was caught. She caught me. I looked up at her and couldn't let any words out.
"You okay, Adrien?" She asked me.
Words, I needed words. Why couldn't I speak or bring them to my mouth. SNAP OUT OF IT.
"Yeah Marinette, I just fell for you-- I mean, down the stairs, thanks for kiss-- I mean, catching me!" I replied.
Regret. I regret speaking.
"Yeah, it's no problem! Just be more careful next time!" She replied. Then she laughed a bit.
I loved her laugh. It was like the one spot of sunlight beaming through a cloudy sky. Warm, bright, and beautiful.
"Haha y-yea" I stuttered as she walked away.
My knees felt like jello. How could I feel this way about a single person?
CRAP! I thought to myself.
I forgot to talk with her about the project. I ran outside to try and catch her, but she was already in her car when I made it outside. I guess I'll just have to wait until tomorrow.
