LONELY BOY
IN A BUBBLE,
THERE'S NO PLACE FOR YOU
SO DEEP INSIDE MY BRAIN

no one knew el better than michael wheeler. mike could name all of el's features in the snap of ones fingers. both her big, and small features; like how she sometimes took a spoonful of peanut butter plain out of the jar, and ate it at 2:00 in the morning. or how she had a petite birthmark on the right side of her back. and how her eyes and nose would crinkle together when she filled his ears with her effortlessly adorable laughter. or how they both shared the same liking for mike's favourite indie films. and even how they both found pleasure in graffitiing the old abandoned hawkins lab.

and that's what they were doing now.

the two lovers were currently holding two cans of spray paint in each of their arms.

yes. this was their 'special place'.

they came here quite often really. wether it was to cheer one of them up during a time where they felt sorrowful and depressed, or even because they just felt like they needed to get the thrill of fun again.

this time it was for the second reason. mike had been discharged from the hospital a week back, and they needed to get that thriving feeling once again; so what better way to do it than going to their special place and having a bit of fun?

it was currently 10:37 pm, and raining like a bitch. this only made the lovestruck couple want to stay out even longer.

"EL! what the fuck did you draw on that poor wall?" mike managed to say through his breaking fit of giggles (in which el found quite cute and sweet).

"shhh! it's okay, mike, no ones ever gonna see this stuff either way." she shrugged, while chuckling at the sight of mike clutching his stomach from his heaps of laughter.

they were both covered in the wet rain; hair drained, and clothes stuck on their bodies.

mike had given el his varsity jacket that he was wearing on top of his hoodie, because she had made the naive decision to wear a shirt that had gone till her elbows, in the chilly fall weather. the (oversized, in her case) jacket slumped over her shoulders, while the moonlight shined above their hidden faces, and they continued to graffiti the walls of the sceptical lab, hand in hand.

a little bit over thirty minutes had already gone by. thirty minutes of ridiculous laughter, kisses, hugs, and vandalism.

they decided it was finally time to go home. it was 11:11 on the dot, and there they were; walking back home, hand in hand yet again.

"MIKE!" el called out as he made the risky decision to carry her back home, as lightning struck a few seconds beforehand.

"what are you doing? your going to drop me, you little shit!" she said while slapping his back, playfully.

he could tell she was trying her hardest to keep a straight face; but no matter how hard she tried, he still heard her continuous laughter. he joined in while tickling her sides, which only made them both laugh harder as the rain was falling and dropping onto their smiling faces.

mike then dropped her down in front of him as both of their hysterical fits were getting unbearable, and it became hard to breathe.

the couple who were now panting heavily, while looking into each other's magnificent, radiant eyes, is what made this night the most incredible sensation they had yet to feel.

and what better thing to do than end a perfect night with a perfect picture?

el took the white polaroid (that her and mike filled with stickers a few years back) out of her small tote bag; which also held the empty spray cans.

both of them got in position. mike holding a cheeky grin to his face while el pressed a kiss to his cheek and snapped the picture.

the picture came out of the camera, and mike shook it to make the ink sprawl out faster.

the ink came in no time and both of them, staring at the lovely picture that had just been taken, "it's perfect." el stated, proud of herself for taking such a remarkable picture.

"i'm definitely adding this one to my collection!" mike added and snatched the picture out of el's hands, and started running rapidly.

"HEY, MIKE! GET BACK HERE! I WANTED THAT ONE!" el yelled at mike while chasing him. as the rain continued to pour, and the sky continued to shine, their joyous laughter broke out once again.

--

mike picked el up on his shoulders, while standing on his bed, as she stuck the newly made polaroid onto his covered ceiling. both mike and el drowned into the soft mattress with a feeling of accomplishment once the job was done, and held onto each other tightly.

what a perfect way to end a perfect night.
