I am reminded of the new day by my extremely annoying alarm clock. Now that I'm up, I realize how repetitive the constant beeping is. I groan and reach to turn it off then start to doze back asleep. You'd think I'd be more excited about my first day of high school but, to be honest, I think of it as another four years of homework and hard work. The only difference is that it feels longer and more grueling than middle school. I barely hear the knock on my door as I fall back asleep.
"Aria, get up. I made pancakes." My father's head pokes into my door. Do I have to get up? I mumble.
My dad chuckles and leaves after reminding me of the big day ahead. I'm constantly being reminded of how amazing my dad's high school experience was. It's where he found his love of photography and his love of..love. He's told me amazing stories of his girlfriends and the adventures they've had. Obviously, his adventures must've moved too quickly because he and my mom were married a month after high school. Now they're divorced and don't talk unless it's to decide who I'm spending Christmas with.
Judging by how he and his "high school sweetheart" turned out, I don't plan on finding love in high school. Can you even call that love? You can't do anything without telling your parents first and, most of the time, adults have to drive you to a pathetic attempt at a date. Anyways, love in high school barely ever lasts and, if it does, you might be left wondering if you could've found someone better later on in life. This isn't a bad attempt at foreshadowing that I'm gonna find the love of my life and get married even sooner after high school than my dad did. I seriously think that high school relationships are a joke.
I plan on focusing on school work during high school. If I run into relationships and parties along the way, I'll mentally admonish myself.
A/N- This is the first chapter of the freshmen 500. This is a Harry Styles fanfiction that I'm really excited about. None of the events in this story happened in real life: this is fully fiction.
Now that I've cleared that up, I hope you enjoy this story as much as I do. :)
