I sit in awkward silence on the couch, squished between Liam and Zayn. Liam and my dad are oblivious and don't notice that we haven't said a word since he came. I didn't expect them to notice; football is obviously the most important thing at the moment.

"So, you like football?" I ask, nervously looking to the floor. Zayn gazes at me and his hand flies up to his neck.

"I um..no," He exhales. "Liam just told me that we'd hang out. He didn't say anything about football." He chuckles.

I nod slightly and fix my gaze on the television, hopefully making this less awkward.

A couple seconds pass and I look up to study him. With his chiseled jaw line and gorgeous figure, I'm sure he has many girls falling for him.

So why did he give me that rose at lunch? Did he pick me out of all the girls that would practically jump at the chance to date him?

Before I know it, I'm staring at his eyes in thought. He turns his head to look at me and our eyes lock for practically the first time tonight.

He breaks his gaze and clears his throat. "Liam, I'll be in your room." He gets up and strides to the door. "I'll come up after this quarter." Liam replies. When I look up, Zayn is gone.

"You guys know each other?" Liam asks, eyes (surprise) still fixed on the screen. I can feel my cheeks getting hot. "Um, no. We've just bumped into each other at school a couple times." I breathe, hoping my lie is believable.

Liam nods without a word and I can tell I have no reason to be here any longer. I bound up the stairs to my room after grabbing a glass of water from the kitchen.

I drop my glass at the sight of a figure hovering over my desk. "What the fuck Zayn?! You scared me to death!" I say, bending down to pick up the broken glass.

"Let me help you." He says, joining me on the floor. Together, we pick up the glass and sweep the floor of the excess.

"Why were you in my room anyway?" I exhale, rubbing my hands on my jeans. Zayn's hand goes up to his neck. "I was heading to Liam's but your door was open...I got curious." He admits.

I'm a bit confused by his words. "We barely know each other. Why would you be interested in coming in my room?"

His eyes are fixed on the ground and his cheeks have flushed red in embarrassment. He obviously doesn't have a good reason. Or maybe he has one that he doesn't want to tell me.

"I should probably leave now." He laughs, reaching for the door knob. "No!" I say, rather forcefully.

"I mean you don't have to. I just wanted to know why you came in here." I explain.

He pauses for a second, collecting his thoughts. "I wanted to know more about you. I was hoping looking around here would help." He finally answers.

I nod and look around my room, realizing that you can't tell my personality just by looking at my 5sos posters. "You can find out more about people in other ways. Like truth or dare or something." I say, suddenly anxious.

"Truth of dare? That's kind of a childish game, don't you think?" He laughs and sits down on my carpet. "Truth or dare?"

"Truth." I reply, joining him on the carpet.

"If you could go anywhere in the world, where would go?" He starts.

I think for a second. "Paris. It's a beautiful city and I could finally put my French 2 skills to good use." I answer and he chuckles. "Truth or dare?"

"Dare." He says, without missing a beat.

"I dare you to...put those ice cubes in your underwear." I say, nodding to the ice cubes that are slowly melting on my floor.

He grabs the ice cubes and puts them in his underwear and continues the game without wincing.

"Truth or dare?"

"Truth." I say, confidently.

"Have you had your first kiss yet?"

"No." I admit, looking down. I suddenly feel small. He's probably laughing at my innocence right now. I should've lied to him and spared myself of this embarrassment. My hands are laced together, my palms are sweating, and my face is hot. Suddenly, I feel a hand on my chin.

Zayn has leaned forward and tilted my chin up so I'm forced to look at him. "What's wrong?" He says, searching my face.

I stare into his caramel eyes. "Do you view me differently," He looks puzzled "now that you know I haven't had my first kiss?" I clarify.

His eyes soften. "No, I don't view you any differently." He answers, his hand still on my chin.

We stay like this for a couple seconds until he asks, "Do you want me to change that?" I tilt my head. "Do you want me to kiss you?" He clarifies.
