[Long chapterlongchapterlongchapterlo-] Toriel had brought him back in the ruins. It seemed like they were back tracking a bit. Toriel finally stopped in a room with a dummy. "You see my child, monsters will attack you. Yet that doesn't mean you have to attack them back, you can just talk it out with them, reasonably and calm. Here, try it out on this Dummy!" Toriel had instructed. The world became the unusual black and white with his orange soul being the only dabble of color.
Chara had appeared behind the dummy, their red locket still being red and shiny in the black n white canvas. "Ya see Roy, Flowey was kinda lying to you on how these things work... LV is bad and doesn't stand for Love, can't remember exactly what it stands for but it's not that. You want to *Act, and try to pacif-" Chara was cut off by Roy punching the Dummy beside them, -0. "That didn't do shit." Roy had started to shake his hand, like if he had gotten hurt from attacking the dummy.
"HAHAHAHAHA! OH THAT WAS GOOD, but I'm being serious, press the *ACT button and fucking flirt with this dummy so we can move on, Roy." Chara had gotten uncomfortably close to Roy's face as they had said that. "O-ok..." Roy complied, pressing the *ACT button. "[*You tried to talk to the dummy, but a conversation is barely a conversation if the other person can't talk...]" Chara had seem to narrarate the awkward interaction. Toriel seemed to pass through Chara, unaware of their presence. "Very good my child! No you see that their name is yellow? That means you can spare them without having to cause them harm, though I doubt you could with seeing your earlier attempt." Toriel chuckled a bit to herself. Roy grunted in frustration.
Roy had selected the *FIGHT option, landing a critical hit! -0... Oh... He seriously CAN'T destroy this thing. "C'mon, the spare button Roy, it's right there and yellow. It's not that hard to miss!" Chara had pointed out and was now obviously gesturing at it. With the utmost look of utter defeat, Roy pressed the spare button and spared the dummy.
"Very good my child! Now follow along, there's a bunch more puzzles we must get through." Toriel had left to the next room. Roy had followed her seeing with no other choice than having to go through with this. The puzzle in the next room was the spike puzzle they had literally just gone through. "Dear child, I am aware that we had previously gone through this puzzle, yet we need to pass again. Take my hand." Toriel had asked Roy again. Roy took Toriel's hand, this time with less hesitance. The spike puzzle was cleared in no time.
Toriel had lead Roy into the next room. "Roy, forgive me for what I must do..." Toriel sighed letting go of his hand. "Wait what?" But before he could really question her on it Toriel darted off to who knows where. "UUUUGGGGhhhh, you have GOT to be kidding me!" Roy had groaned, he had been down there for not even half an hour and he's already so done with everyone's shit. "What's wrong Roy? Can't walk down a hallway by yourself?" Chara had appeared behind him causing him to jump a bit, "Chara, you have GOT to stop doing that!" Roy had scorned. "Haha, yeah, I probably won't though, your reactions are funny." Chara giggled, poking Roy playfully.
Roy had ignored their remark and crossed his arms walking down the empty hallway. There was a pillar at the end but that was about it. "But seriously, don't take anything Flowey said too seriously. Not ALL monsters down here want your soul, like Toriel just wants to help you out." Chara had reassured Roy as they were floating, following Roy from behind. "Like that's calming." Roy spat back at the ghost, and obvious sarcastic insult aimed at Chara.
"Look, Roy, I understand where your coming from I really do but-" Toriel had jumped out from behind the pillar, "Surprise my child! I your friend and guardian, Toriel was behind this pillar the entire time! You were never truly alone, I wanted to test your independence!" "You've got to be kidding me..." Roy had said to himself. Toriel had ignored his remark and gave him an old looking NOKIA phone. "Now, I have some business to attend to, please remain here. And please be good, Roy. If you need anything just call." Toriel had waved a good bye before leaving.
After Toriel left Roy entered the next room. Roy had gotten a call from Toriel, "Hello my child. I just called to check up on you, you haven't left the room yet have you? There are a plenty of dangerous puzzles in the ruins." "No, I haven't left the room yet, Toriel. And I'll be safe." Roy felt like he was reassuring a parent he would be fine, he found it a bit odd but God was it oddly comforting too. "Good, very good. I'll see you later."*click* Toriel had hung up. "Lying to the Goat Mom, how cruel. But you should probably touch that star over there, I think it's important." Chara had teased. Roy rolled his eyes and touched the star, "[*The new area of the ruins and the crinkled leaves fill you with BRAVERY... save]" Roy had started to punch in a number into the old phone. "What are you doing?" Chara inquired. "Calling one of my friends to come find me." Roy stated. The phone had beeped, "We're sorry, the person you are trying to reach Is out of service range. MAYBE IF THEY PAID THEIR FUCKIN PHONE BI-" the message cut off. "Welp, atleast I tried." Roy headed North of where he was and stole a piece of candy from the bowl and put it in his pocket. "Stealing from the Goat Mom, how cruel." Chara commented with a smirk. "You want a piece too don't you?" Roy had asked holding up a piece. "Aww, thanks Roy maybe you aren't so-" Roy had snatched back the piece of candy as Chara went to take it. "*gasp* Roy how dare." Chara reached for the candy Roy hand in his clutch, swiping at him for it. "Noo, you can't have it!" Roy had said stepping back. He was knocked into the candy bowl, knocking it and the pillar it was pedestaled on over onto the floor. "We don't tell Toriel about this?" Chara had asked him, "I mean I won't tell her if you won't." Roy had responded. "Good so it's agreed."
They had carried on southern bound of the hallway currently containing the two sweater wearing kids. "[*Froggit has hopped into an encounter!]" Chara had announced like a sports announcer as the world faded into the black and white. Roy stepped back a bit, he was supposed to be fighting a fucking frog. A FUCKING FROG! "[*You flee the battle, there's better things to do I suppose.]" Roy had carried onward, fighting a frog just seemed like a waste of time.
The next room contained a new puzzle, a single rock and a line of spikes. "Hmmm, I wonder what you should do here, Ro-"*click* "I'm done with the puzzle, Chara! I don't need your sarcastic input." Roy had spat at them. "But I wasn't- How did- You- YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO READ THE SIGN FIRST!" Chara had babbled. "Sorry that this place's puzzles are dumb and easy." Roy had carried on.
*ring ring!* Roy picked up the phone, "Hello Roy! I was wondering do you prefer cinnamon or butterscotch?" Toriel had asked. "Oh! Do cinnamon, those are the good pies!" Chara had whispered to Roy. "Butterscotch is fine!" Roy had told Toriel, "ROY NO." "Roy, yes." "Huh what was that Roy?" "Nothing Toriel!" "Anyways, thank you for being patient. I will be there soon."*click*
"Roy why would you choose the bad pie?" Chara had asked with an obvious betrayal in their voice. "Because I don't like cinnamon, like how I don't like you." Roy had smiled walking to the next room. "Wow, that hurt, do you even have like ANY friends?" Chara pouted. "I have two." Roy stated.
This new room had a puzzle. "Careful Roy you might not want to step on the leav-AAAAAnd of course you're already at the other side. How did you find this one out?" Chara had asked. This puzzle was based on trial and error and he just got it right? "Some of the tiles are more cracked than others, so I didn't step on those." Roy had pointed to a tile pointing it out. "That's not even that noticeable!" Chara had grunted. "I have an eye for this sorta stuff, don't tell me what I can't find or notice." Roy explained and moved on.
This next puzzle was a lot like the first rock one, but instead of a single rock, there were 3, simple enough. "There goes rock 1." Chara had said as Roy struggled to push the first rock. *ring ring!* "Hello Roy! You do not dislike snail pie do you?" Toriel had asked, with Chara making an audible "YUCK!" in the background. "I'm willing to trying anything once." Roy had said. "Oh good! Thanks dear child, I will be there soon!"*click* "Ewww... Snail pie." Chara did an exaggerated gagging sound. Roy had pushed the second rock. He was gonna push the third when "WOAH there kid who said you could push me? Just ask me to move!" The rock had spoke! "Alright, well can you go and move over there onto that button?" Roy asked the rock. "Sure pardner!" The rock had slid itself onto the button and the spikes were lowered. "That... was weird." Chara had looked shocked by the fact the rock was alive. "C'mon Chara, let's go! You're kinda slow!" "OK, STOP MOVING SO FAST! YOUR GONNA HIT SOMEONE OR SOMETHING!"
"HA! LIKE THAT'LL HAP-" Roy had tripped and fallen over onto a ghost, pretending to be asleep. "O-oh I'm sorry, that was my fault..." the ghost had gotten up to say, the the underground colors drained, having the orange soul on display.
