"Roy, dear child, welcome home!  I'll show you your room!  Follow me."  Toriel took Roy's hand and lead him to a room in a hallway.  The room seemed old and dusty, like it hasn't been touched in years.  "Sorry it seems old.  I didn't expect you to be here so soon.  I'll dust it up while you go have some pie, Roy.  It's on the table."  Toriel had told to the small angry gremlin boy.  Roy felt, odd...  Like how he feels when he was with Ross or Robert...  A feeling he couldn't describe.  "You look a bit confused.  Have you never been cared about?"  Chara took notice of Roy's confused face as they walked to the table with the snail pie.  "I...  I'm not sure...  I don't wanna talk about it I just wanna eat pie."  Roy had told the ghost child sitting in the chair.  "That's fair...  There's a bunch of things I don't wanna talk about either."  Chara sighed.  "Then let's not talk about it!"  Roy kinda whispered shouted taking a bite of the oddly flavored pie.  "Ew.  Snail pie gross, I prefer chocolate pie."  Chara proceeded to fake gag.  "Y'know it's not half that bad, Chara."  Roy had commented on the pie.  Chara responded with another fake gagging.  "Roy who are you talking to?"  Toriel had asked coming out of the room.  "Can you not see them?"  Roy kinda motioned to where Chara was.  "Who Roy?  There's no one there." "Nevermind!  This pie is really good!"  Roy embarrassly exclaimed.  "Finally!  A human who likes my snail pie!"  Toriel chuckled as she walked over to her chair.  Toriel opened a book and started to read.  "Why didn't you tell me that she couldn't see you?" Roy muttered under his breath, trying to be as silent as possible.  "I thought you knew!  Whenever we were all together in the ruins she only commented on you!  See I'm being VERY loud!  She can't do anything! LALALALA!" Chara started shouting being the opposite of what Roy was trying to be.  "See?  I'm invisible...  Always have, always will..."  Chara got quiet and sat back besides Roy.
*time skip due to I have no more relevant plot here at this moment*
"I'm heading to bed Toriel."  Roy had told the Goat woman in the chair.  "Alright!  Good night my child!"  Toriel had told the small hatted boy.  Roy sat on the bed Toriel had gifted him.  He was gifted this room, from a essentially complete stranger!  Yet...  It was so...  Nice...  Gross...  Roy felt so confused, he was so beaten and battered, he was used to that...  Not this... "Roy?  Are you ok?"  Chara had asked breaking the silence Roy's confusion had caused.  "What do you mean by that?  I'm perfectly fine!"  Roy had forced laughed.  "You always seem confused whenever me or Toriel are nice to you.  Like you aren't used to it?  Have the humans on the surface...  Hurt you too?"  Chara asked hesitantly asked him, waiting with curious intent.  "Some of them...  Not all...  I'll tell you that...  Good night..."  Roy grumpily shut Chara down.  "Goodnight, I guess..."  Chara had disappeared.

Roy woke up.  For once he felt like he had a well rest.  That's a first.  Especially for the situation he has found himself in.  Roy walked outside of the room and decided to explore the rest of the hallway.  Roy found a mirror.  He looked at his reflection, he has a bruise on his left cheek.  "*It's you!"  Chara spooked Roy, causing him to flinch.  "Jeez!  Chara, don't do that!" Roy had started walking back to the living room.  Chara was laughing loudly.   "What's down there?"  Roy motioned to the stairs.  "The exit to the ruins, although, I don't think Toriel would want to you to go down there."  Chara stated.  "I want to leave the ruins."  Roy almost interrupted them.
"Why?!  You're loved here!  It's safe here!  The monster's out there will kill you!  Most of them aren't as merciful as Toriel!"  Chara had been appalled.  "I know!  It's just...  I don't deserve this Chara...  I need to leave."  Chara stood in silence.  Roy tried to go down the stairs.  Toriel had exited her room.
"Roy!  What are you doing?  Do not go down there!"  Toriel had shockingly exclaimed.  "How long have you been there?!"  Roy asked her coyly. 
"The whole time...  I may not know whom you are talking to but...  We will talk about this when I get back...  I have things to take care of...  Do not follow me."  Toriel said sternly, going down the stairs.
"Well, you wanna leave the ruins right?  Stop her, she's going to try to destroy the exit to the ruins so you can't leave..."  Chara told Roy.
