Sitting in my new room waiting for my mysterious husband who just disappeared after tying the knot with me, I bent my head down while fidgeting with my fingers nervously. This nervousness was not the typical one where a newly married bride would experience thinking about her wedding night, but it was because of the look he gave me while putting the sindoor on my forehead. I couldn't point out what were his eyes trying to convey to me but I understood that he's a heartbroken guy.
I sighed heavily seeing the hour hand and minute hand in the clock which pointed at twelve indicating it's 12am. I rolled my eyes and was about to get up to remove my wedding ornaments when I heard a voice behind me.
The devil is here!
"Hey!!! Did you expect me here at this time?" She asked, squealing in excitement as if it was her wedding night and for the 87th time of the day, I rolled my eyes. I hoped my eyeballs wouldn't fall off the socket.
"Girl, don't you have any manners? It's my first night, you idiot!" I huffed at her.
"Manners? What's that?" She giggled as if she cracked the funniest joke ever.
"So, what brings you here today? Hey wait, how did you find the address of this mansion?" I asked her with raising an eyebrow.
She chuckled at my question and sat on the bed beside me with her legs crossed. "Darling, do you think an angel has to find out the address to reach a place like you humans do?"
You are not an angel but a devil.
"Alright, you have a point. Now tell me why are you here today?"
"I'm here to give you some advice so that you won't fly too high in your dreams." She said with a poker face and continued, "Listen to me carefully. I'm going to tell you what will happen tonight. First, your husband will enter the room angrily. Second, he will give you a look of disgust when he sees you sitting on HIS bed. Third, he will vent his rage on you by-" I cut her before she could continue.
"Wait, why the hell he would give me a look of disgust? Come on, I'm a beautiful girl with a divine heart. And why would he vent his rage on me?"
"Shhh! Don't interfere when I'm speaking then I will forget what I wanted to say." She shut me off and continued, "Where was I? Oh yeah, he will vent his rage on you by saying 'he was not interested in this marriage, his parents forced him to marry you so he did it unwillingly'. Next, he would ask, no warn you to stay away from him and his things and at last but not least, he will ask you to take the couch or maybe the floor as he won't share HIS bed with you." She sighed heavily after ending her speech dramatically and started searching on my face for any kind of expression as I was staring at her blankly. "You're not going to say something? I know what I said is absolutely difficult for you to digest but what to do? It's life, darling. Phew, it's okay take your time and digest the truth slowly."
