In the evening, Bani, Sampurna, Shreya, Anusha and the little Reyansh were sitting in the backyard as the elders were having their tea-time together while gossiping about the men in the house and Rey was playing with his toys while sitting on Anu's lap. Their gossip got paused when Sam's phone rang and she grinned seeing the caller ID.
"Oh My God, I can't believe my eyes. My arrogant and workaholic doctor son is calling me during his working hours?" She smiled mischievously while raising her eyebrow at Bani who suddenly started blushing upon hearing her dearest hubby's name.
"Mom, answer the call before he loses his patience." Anu snickered at her mom.
Sam nodded and answered the call. "Hello, Veer? What's wrong?"
"Nothing is wrong, mom. Where is Bani? Can you please pass the phone to her?" Veer asked, making Sam roll her eyes.
"So you didn't call to talk to me but to your beloved wife, is it? This is not fair at all, Veer. You are forgetting your mother nowadays." Sam said dramatically making everyone roll their eyes at her.
"Mom, please?" Veer groaned.
"Fine! Bani, your husband wants to speak to you ONLY." She said, emphasizing the last word to which everyone around her giggled silently.
But before the phone could be passed to Bani, Anu snatched it and put it on loudspeaker. Bani widened her eyes and Anu gestured her to speak without alerting Veer about it. Sighing at her, Bani snatched the phone and spoke hesitantly. "He-hello?"
"Hey, baby girl!" Veer greeted her in his cheerful tone to which Bani facepalmed after seeing the teasing expressions of people around her.
"Hmm?" She just hummed in a soft tone making Veer groaned at it.
"Sweetheart, what hmm? Say something yaar. I'm missing your sweet voice already, darling." Veer whined huskily.
Bani cleared her throat and turned off the loudspeaker before getting up from there to have some privacy as the other ladies had started giggling more hearing Veer's whining tone. "Veer, why do you always embarrass me? The call was on loudspeaker and the ladies in our home heard you already." She pouted to which Veer chuckled loudly.
"I know, sweetheart. I know the call was on loudspeaker that's why I spoke in that way."
"Ufff, you are so bad, Veeru ji. Now they are going to tease me because of you." She grumbled before biting her tongue when she realised what she called him.
"What did you call me? Say that again now." He said in a challenging tone.
"No, nothing. Why did you call me, Ansh?" She cooed to distract him.
"Awww, so sweet. By the way, I called to inform you that I have another two surgeries to attend today so I would be home late tonight, sweetheart."
