Aurelia's Diary: October 16, 2021

Dear Diary,

The golden locket was a treasure. There wasn't any memories linked to it or emotions but just the sight of it held beauty and wonder that no one could ever show me. I had an attachment to it which is unusual since I never had attachments to anyone or anything. However, I knew it held something. Something deeper into it but I never could get it open, it was sealed shut. My curiosity burned me but it was too delicate to open in case it broke.

On this cold and dreary evening, my fingers played with the cold surface without any thought, my eyes glancing around the grand ballroom and I took in a sharp breath. The grand marble staircase descended onto the vast dance floor with tables and chairs placed alongside the ivory painted walls. Vast windows opened into the night sky with twinkling stars and fireflies projected a glow.

We were setting up for the grand Ball where Prince Harry Styles was to find his future bride. Since he was 25 years, his father desired for his only son to be married before his death took his toll. To my luck, as an orphan, I was placed under the royal family's care as a maid to care and clean their royal castle.

"Aurelia, you must attend to Prince Styles' room to help him get ready for this night. You must make him perfect or it'll be on your head," my supervisor, Sir James said, ushering me off to Harry's suite. I remember the thought crossing my mind that I hated being alone with him but I had too. I only saw him a few times from a distance so I never got too close.

My fingers played with the golden locket around my neck as I ambled towards Harry's suite. I licked my lips, knocking on his ivory painted door and I waited for him to open it. I remember the vivid thought of me wanting to rush out of the castle, into the forest and into the night. Even though I was an orphan, it was the best idea I ever had, better than being stuck here with him.

That's when the door opened and I saw his face. I still remember staring into his soul, his emerald green orbs gazing into mine with red beautifully carved lips and short curly brown hair slightly tucked behind his ears. The feeling I had was indescribable as he was the most handsome man I ever saw.

"What do you want?" He said through his pearly whites, gritting his teeth and his sharp jaw clenched. This vivid memory torched my heart, still creating that feeling of delight and joy but his words stung deep like he wedged a sword through my chest "Lower your gaze, maid, and tell me what you want," he growled, low and deep and my heart pounded like it ran a marathon.

I curtseyed out of respect and lowered my gaze, my eyes staring at his shoes. "I have come to ready you for the ball, " I whispered, waiting for his response. That feeling was something I never thought I would ever experience as I waited for him to respond or even let me in. I hated him for making me wait, I was impatient.

"I do not need your help. I know how to ready myself so I suggest you leave, maid, or I'll have security escort you out," he growled as he clenched his jaw tightly and balled up his hands. I sighed with frustration burning through my veins. I remember how stubborn Harry was, he never needed help but now I knew that he needed the most.

"Prince Styles, I have been ordered to ready you for the ball so I suggest move aside so I can fulfil my duty," I said as I looked up into his endearing eyes and his eyes widened. I knew back then I struck a nerve since no one ever stood up to a man like Harry Styles. His lips twitched into a smirk and he moved aside. I just couldn't believe I stood up to a man like him, I knew my supervisor would hear of this.

"You have some nerve to talk to me like that, maid. I suggest you shut your pretty little mouth before I bring some action, don't you think?" He growled, raising an eyebrow. I walked into his large room, a window that brought the moon's luminescence in and a bed right beside it, alongside a table side. It didn't seem that homey, thinking back to it, but it did the job.

"What are you gonna do? Fire me? I'll gladly leave in a heartbeat," I said, chuckling but as soon as the words left my lips, my eyes widened. I slapped my hand over my mouth, the shock flooding through my veins. Did I talk back to him again? I would of gladly left in a heartbeat beat if I had somewhere to go but I didn't. At this stage, I may be kicked out.

"Some nerve to talk to me like that again, don't you think? My father will bring the punishment against your family, and you know how brutal his punishments are, " he whispered as he inched closer to me. His eyes shone against the moon's luminescence, casting a glow and I felt his breath fanning my face.

My back hit the wall, the cold surface seeping through my clothes and I glanced down to his lips and up to his mesmerising orbs once again. "Well, lucky for me, I don't have a family so I won't know your father's punishment then, will I?" I whispered back, raising my eyebrow and I couldn't believe I was talking back to him. His eyes widened slightly due to this sudden situation and I slightly smirked.

"Get to work, maid. I won't have you talking to me like that. If you keep up this little act of yours, I may have to take matters into your own hands, won't I?" He whispered, so close to my face. I shouldn't of felt things back then but I did.

"My pleasure. Shall I have space to work or are you going to keep me trapped between yourself and the wall?" I questioned, my eyebrow raised and I bit my lip anxiously. He stepped aside and I ambled to his walk in closet, piles of suits and casual wear lined up on racked with shoes placed on shelves.

I grabbed a jet black suit with shoes, all neatly straightened with shoes all polished and headed out from his closet. "Now, Prince Styles, please wear these and I'll fix your hair, " I said.

Harry scoffed. "You're always dressing me, I don't need you fixing my hair. I like it like this, " he growled, defending his short curly brown hair and I sighed. Thinking back to it, I should of fixed it. I wouldn't of gotten a whole speech about Harry from my supervisor about his hair.

Harry changed into his suit which I decided for him and with the sight of him, it really took my breath away. Unfortunately, with his personality, it decided to ruin it all. I needed to realise that I wanted the whole package, not half of it. I hated how he consumed my thoughts and intoxicated my life. I hated him for ruining it all.
