"I'm sorry WHAT?!" Jungkook asked raising his voice slightly, his eyes as wide as saucers.

"In order for my idea to work I need you to marry Choi Hyejin", his father replied calmly.

"Honey are you talking about the youngest daughter of 'THE' Choi's, who returned back from America some time ago?" His mother asked.

"Yes that's the one. She had gone to America to attend a B-School. When I talked to her at my last meeting with the Choi's, she appeared to be a very smart, responsible and stable-minded girl to me, with a great  personality. I think she would be a great girl for our Kookie."

Jungkook sat frozen in chair, still stunned by the words that had been said by his father.

"As for the business aspect, you all know Choi and I have been friends for so long and we think extending our friendship into a partnership would be great. CS Corporation (Owned by the Chois) wants to join hands with JNB Group (Owned by the Jeons) and we thought getting our children married would be a great way to commemorate it", Mr. Jeon continued. " What do you think Kookie?" He asked, looking towards his son.

Jungkook finally came back to his senses and replied," But why do I need to marry her? Can't you settle the deal normally instead of making us marry each other?"

"Oh! I think I missed out on the most important point. She is a very smart woman Jungkook and I want her to be the CFO of our company. This way your brother would have some help in handling the business since our current CFO is retiring. Also our alliance will cause an uproar in the market which will be very beneficial for us in the upcoming years", he smiled while saying.

All Jungkook did was listen to his father while looking down at his lap. His father held onto his hand, which was formed into a fist while resting on the table, in order to reassure him and said," I know it's a huge decision for you to take and I also know that by putting it all out I've put a lot of pressure on your shoulders. But please give it a thought son. She is a great girl, I know it. Your happiness is what matters to me the most, not the company or the deal. They are just the added benefits to your secured future. I know you love music which is why I never pressurized you into joining the business. But just this once, I want you to grant your old man his wish. I want you to go on a date with her before making a decision. If you still don't like her, we'll cancel the wedding."

His looked up at his parents who looked back at him expectantly. He took a deep breath before replying, "Fine I'll go on a date with her."

*******

Beads of perspiration rolled down his forehead even though the AC was at its maximum setting. To say he was nervous was an understatement. The butterflies in his stomach made him want to puke his guts out and the girl had not even arrived yet.

After agreeing to his parents' proposal, Jungkook was set up on a date with his soon-to-be fiancé. His father had called Mr. Choi, his long time friend, that very night since he couldn't hold himself back in excitement. Jungkook was glad to see his parents happy. He wanted to do everything to keep those smiles on their faces. And in order for that to happen, this date had to be a successful one. His father had showed him a picture of his future fiancé that night and he had been rendered speechless. Calling her pretty was an insult to her beauty. To him she looked like a Goddess. His jaw hung open as he stared at her picture.

It was not like he had never dated girls before. He had had his fair share of flings and one-night stands. Even a few relationships could be added to the list, but they never lasted long since he had always been very focused on his career as a singer and had failed to give his girlfriends the time and attention they needed, eventually leading to their feelings for each other to fade away. His mind, at that time, had told him they were not meant to be, but that was not the case now. For some unknown reason his sixth sense told him that she was the one. And for that very reason, here he was sitting in a five-star restaurant, eagerly waiting for his date to arrive while rubbing his sweaty palm on his trousers. He was trying to give himself a mental prep talk, reminding himself to not act like a high schooler, going on a date with his long-time crush, for the very first time. His prep talk was cut short by a silky, seductive voice.

"I hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long Mr. Jeon Jungkook."
