Postcards from Far Away
Addison hated long-distance. She hated that she and Meredith had to spend the first year of their relationship apart, but they managed, and they always sent each other postcards with pictures, or cheesy sayings on them.
Meredith started keeping the postcards in a memory box, and she'd often open it and re-read Addison's letters when the redhead was on business trips. They've been living together for nearly two years now.
By the time Meredith and Addison's children were old enough to read, sending snail-mail was all but considered 'retro' by their four youngsters, who began mailing their friends and family letters just to 'try out' the postal service.
Zola, Henry, Bailey, and Ellis send their mothers postcards from far away every year that they go on vacation. Their careers have taken off, and they often travel for business, and for pleasure, and they plan on continuing their tradition with their own children.
