It's been three months since the attack sent by HYDRA. The compound was basically destroyed in the crossfire of the fighting. Steve told me we were going to be moving out of the compound, but I didn't think it was going to be so soon.

We moved out of the compound a month after the attack, Steve figured it would be the best way to keep me and Bucky safe. The city of Manhattan is different from the rural area where the compound was, all the avengers relocated to the Avengers tower. It's the most stunning building I have ever lived in. Of course Steve had me, him, and Bucky all on one floor, floor 4.

Change has never come easy to me but I always find a way to embrace it in the end. Steve and Tony thought it was best that I stayed in the tower for now. I feel sort of like I'm alone in this box and I don't know how to get out.

Bucky stayed next to me at all times after the ambush. He helped me unpack and re-decorate my  new room. My room looked very similar to my old room in the compound, with the exception that my bed was in the corner and not the middle. Bucky specifically moved it next to the enormous window so that I could stare out at the city at night and watch the rain on melancholy days.

The air in the city was different from before, well at least when I was here back in the 1920's. It's cloudier but bright, salty but sweet. I would usually pay no attention to these sort of details but I couldn't help but be meticulous, I mean after all I am basically trapped in here.

"How's my lovely girlfriend doing on this fine day" a voice says lurking in my doorway.

"First of all, I'm not your girlfriend Barnes and second I'm doing quite well" I say turning my head to face a man, it was Buck, I could tell by the raspy voice.

"But 'cha could be doll face" he says with a grin plastered on his face.

"Anyway when are you guys going to let me go outside, I'm starting to feel like a prisoner in my own home" I tell him.

"Actually me and Steve were talking and I convinced him to let you go to the cafe" he says, making my face light up with joy. But before I could say how excited I was he ruins the fun before I even make it over to my purse.

"Hey, Hey, not so fast, meet your chaperone for the day m'lady" he says raising his hand and bowing his torso.

"No way" I say, laughing.

"What, I'm serious. And I finally get to take you out on a date" he says, still with that stupid smirk on his face. I let out a small laugh.

"It's not a date if you just tell me, you have to ask nicely and we are only going to lunch" I reply, crossing my arms.

"Fine then. Tessa Anastasia Casado Andrews, will you make me the happiest man in the galaxy and go on a date with me to the cafe" he says, dramatically. I smile and roll my eyes before giving him a response.

"You're just asking me to lunch, not to be your wife. But yes, I will go on a date with you James" I respond before walking over to him and pushing him out of the room.

"So how was that for when I ask you to marry me? Was it good, I have to tweak a few words to make it-" he says before I close the door, cutting him off.

"In your dreams lover boy" I say walking away from the door and over to my wardrobe.

A tight pink, off- the- shoulder dress catches my eye. The dress is decorated with tiny white flowers and pink ruffles at the top and bottom of the dress. I slip it on and the straps dangle nicely a bit lower than my shoulder. I grab my hair straightener and glide it through a few pieces of hair that curled up after my shower last night. I throw on a bit of mascara and lip gloss before grabbing my tote bag, chucking my wallet and phone inside.
