The Injury (Yuri!!! on Ice Fanfic)

Once Again

Phichit ran out of the rink and yelled at Victor to jump in his car.

Phichit floored the pedal as the car roared down the road. His grip was tight.

Victor on the other hand, looked devastated. He looked so miserable yet terrified.

He watched out the window as the snowflakes flew from the sky.

The heat from the car made his eyes water more, separate from the fact that he was in deep shock.

Finally as they reached the hospital, Victor jumped out of the car and raced inside. Phichit waited in the car, putting his head down. Victor was told to go in the waiting room and he sat down. He stared at the floor, shaking.

It's happening again. The love of his life is in danger. Everything is happening so fast. Make it stop.

As Victor kept staring at the ground waiting, and as his vision became more blurry, a nurse called him to Yuri's room.

He sprung up and went to Yuri. He was asleep and Victor wanted to stroke his face, but the doctor proceeded.

"To put it bluntly, he.." the doctor hesitated.

"He can't skate again."

Victor stared. "What..?"

"He can't-"

"I heard you the first time!" Victor shouted.

Tears went down his face.

"Does Yuri know yet?" Victor stroked Yuri's hand and sat down in the chair nearby.

"Nope.. He blacked out in the ambulance. His stress level was really high, and with the pain as well, he fainted. Anyway, his leg is permanently damaged at this point. If he were to heal again and skate like he just did, then the chances of his leg being damaged again is greater."

"No..no...nonono..." he broke down.

He put his hands on his face masking his look of devastation.

Yuri woke up to Victor asleep in a chair next to him, and he suddenly got flashbacks of what happened last night.

Out of panic, he shouted for Victor.

Victor's eyes slowly opened to see Yuri awake. He immediately stood up and grasped Yuri tightly.

"Yuri, I'm so so sorry.." Victor began to cry.

Yuri assured Victor, "I'm sure with time, things will be normal again..right?" He had an uneasy laugh.

Victor wanted to speak but no words came out. Yuri didn't deserve this, but he deserved the truth.

"You..you can't-" Victor spoke with a broken tone.

"You can't skate anymore.." Victor stared into Yuri's eyes as they started to flood.

"What?! No, I don't believe it! It can't be the end!" Yuri sobbed.

"I've decided.." Victor weeped.

"If you can't skate anymore,

then neither can I."
