'Pinetree...Pinetree...'

The calming echo of Bill Ciphers voice cascades through Dipper's mind causing him to fall deeper and deeper into the dark void. This allowed him to remain in a peaceful, and tranquil state. Just then a beam of light provokes Dipper into opening his eyes. There he sees a glowing illusion of Bill looking distressed and reaching his hand out to Dipper. The urge to remain in the void was now ever-present the moment he saw this. Dipper fights with all his might to reach his hand out to Bill, for that he knew if he were to remain here. He would never be able to see his friends, family, but most of he would never be able to see Bill again.

The struggle to grab Bill's hand was an intense and overwhelming battle. However with his strong willpower, and immense determination. Dipper was finally able to reach out and grab Bill's hand. He felt a sense of happiness the moment their hands touched. Suddenly a white light flashes and the sounds of heart monitors ring through Dipper's ears. Eyes flutter open and Dipper finds himself in a hospital bed, with monitors, IVs attached to his arm, and a bandage on his head. Confused he looks around to try and remember how he got there. Turning his head to the left Dipper spots Bill sitting on a chair reading a magazine.

"B-bill?" Dipper muttered in confusion.

Capturing his attention Bill looks over and gives Dipper a surprised expression. He quickly closes the magazine, stands up, and places it on the chair. The worried boss walks towards the bed making Dipper's body respond with a small twitch.

"Hey Pinetree you're finally awake," Bill said with relief.

"What...what happened? How did I get here?" Dipper wondered.

"You fell and hit your head on your bathroom counter. The doctors said you suffered a concussion and that if you left untreated for another hour you would had serve damage" Bill explains to him.

"I see...is it bad?" Dipper asked as he gently touches his head.

"Not as bad as when I first found you. Thankfully you will be walking away with only a couple of stitches" Bill assures him.

Dipper suddenly looked surprised from what Bill just said. Did he just say that he was the one who found Dipper on the floor? The brunette didn't think about how on earth Bill got into his apartment. He was more captivated by the fact that Bill was the one who saved him. Dipper's heart skips a beat at the very thought. He sets aside the denial that he has been implementing on himself since the first sexual fantasy. Knowing that Bill saved his life, makes the attraction grow stronger.

"You...saved me? But why?" Dipper questions curiously, hoping to get the response he wishes for.

"I mean...I can't have my raising star suddenly come crashing down on me, now can I?~" Bill chuckles nervously.

The brunette's eyes slightly widen and his heartfelt a piercing sensation. It was clear to him that Bill only came to the rescue because he was making money for the club. The thought of this made Dipper feel down and resentful inside. His hopes to see Bill actually care for someone other than himself were shot down. Dipper was hoping that he could be the one to receive Bill's care and affection. Of course, it was too good to be true.

"Right...so what does this mean for me? Are you going to have me return to work as soon as I'm healed" Dipper muttered in a bitter tone.

The resentful comment made Bill tick with distress inside. He could sense that Dipper was upset by the way he answered the question from earlier. However, Bill couldn't allow his true feelings to show, it would only make him weak and exposed. Or so he was told. In reality, Bill wishes that he could embrace Dipper with all his might and even share a tender kiss. The discordant boss clenched his fists at his side to hold back his burning desires. Instead, he takes a breath and collects himself.
