pet peeves

nobody reads this shit but fam it's basically my diary so whatever. fyi, i can be very negative and hateful, negative energy is very much welcome here. if you disagree with my opinions, bring it up bitch! I love debates, whether it's to prove someone wrong or to just hear another perspective

n e ways let's get to it

1. wattpad dimensions

okay so I generally work with pretty big dimension. usually 2048 pixels wide or long, I always make my graphics with 2048 pixels wide or long BUT wattpad this motherfucker does like idk 800? 500? so when I have my huge files load onto wattpad it becomes so blurry and when i try to make it smaller the original pics that I use still become blurry

2. y/n slander
i read x reader fics, why? because i'm bored and have no love life. now i don't mind when we hate on mary sue y/n because i hate her too BUT i hate when people shame others for reading y/n fics or fanfics in general esp if it's kpop idols. like, yeah some are cringey but the nature itself isn't that bad. most fanfic readers (that i know of) aren't that delusional, they know how to seperate fiction and reality.

3. munafik people
tbh i don't know what munafik is in english, google translate says it's hypocritical but it doesn't mean the same. munafik is when someone like denies their thoughts or something like that, i mean i guess hypocritical could work but it's just not the same. it's like when someone is like oh no I want to become a lawyer because i want to help people blah blah blah but they really only want to do it cuz lawyers make a shit ton of money. like man, just admit it, it's not that bad. i mean if it's in a formal setting, i get it, you gotta look good but if it's just casual just be honest man.

4. name mispronunciation
okay this is mostly for chinese k-pop idols. like for example chenle, his name is read sorta like chonlo in korean but when people say it like that in english it just pisses me of so much. you don't have to do it with a perfect chinese accent but like try to get it somewhat right. the e in mandarin is read kinda like the o in bacon or the e in honest. ALSO q in mandarin is pronounced like ch so yuqi is read yuchi, not yuki. also winwin's real name, sicheng, isn't pronounced seecheng, the i is pronounced like the e.

fights are just ew

6. script form writing
i HATE writers who write in script form. WHY??? it's not that hard to write a dialogue like

"You've changed." he said, the betrayal obvious in his tone

see that would work fine in a video or stage because there's audio and visuals that tell us how the character is feeling but books don't have that. you need to describe it to get the audience to feel how you want them to feel. also script form writing has too much dialogue and not enough narration. movies don't need narration because they have the visuals to aid in the story telling, books do.

7. wattpad's backgrounds
tbh i prefer a yellow or grey background opposed to white or black but wattpad doesn't have that. white text on black or black text on white is a little too much contrast for me. white text on dark grey or black text on slightly yellow are the perfect combos for big chunks of text but wattpad doesn't have that. ik there's the yellow background but that is one of the ugliest yellows i've seen. it's too yellow for reading.

wattpad should allow us to customise our backgrounds or sumn, like have a color picker and hex code / rgb customiser. i can imagine the hex code / rgb be very useful for books that want a certain appearance, like the author can just write in the hex code or rgb they want the readers to use and they just need to put it in.

tumblr has something similar where the blog owner gets to decide what colour background their posts will be in but i don't really like that. first of all, it doesn't allow the authors to have certain backgrounds for specific parts or books. second, i don't trust authors on this site to decide on a good coloured background. like some of y'all have bomb writing but horrendous visuals, esp the young ones. i don't want to read an 89 part story with a bright pink background
