THURSDAY
7:26 PM

after everyone went home, (thank God that none of you ever found oikawa) you plopped down on your bed and toyed mindlessly with your phone. mom should be getting here really soon, you think to yourself before setting your phone down and standing up. you walk out of your room, quietly trailing down the hallway that always seemed to be dim. past the livingroom you walk, barely acknowledging the man that snored away on the couch.

guess i'll unlock the door and wait for mo-

you freeze in your tracks the second your index finger touches the cold doorknob. blood rushes to your head as your heart begins to beat much faster. you could hear your mom talking quietly just on the other side of the door. but that's not what freaked you out. what completely freaked you out was the fact that there was another voice. a masculine and deep voice. you don't move an inch, just stand there as still as a statue as you glance back to the couch for a brief moment.

"you really didn't have to walk me up here, you know!"
your mother's muffled voice laughs out softly, and then you hear the other voice.

"no, no- don't worry about it! a pretty lady like you, walking around at night all alone? now that's not a smart idea. and i'd be a real douche to leave you all by yourself, wouldn't i?"

a moment of flattered silence before you hear your mom go- "awww, stop it! ...you should go home now, your kids are waiting for you, right?"

"eh, they're grown enough to not need me there all the time. but yeah, s'pose yer right, darling. let's get together soon, alright?" he offers a soft chuckle before the woman reciprocates the flirtatious gesture.

"haha, see you tomorrow, handsome."

and then there's footsteps clinking down the metal steps and then shortly after, the sound of keys being shoved into the doorknob. your e/c eyes widen to the size of volleyballs; and you begin running- and i mean running like, she's a runner she's a track star type running- i mean running like, she gon run away when it gets hard type running. you were not playing around.

you practically trip over your own feet by the time that you make it to your bedroom door. you bolt inside of your room the same second that you hear the front door finally open. you quietly close your own door shut before leaning your back against it and sliding down the white-painted wood. you gulp, swallowing down a lump in your throat as you begin to process everything that just happened.

well, crap
my mom's having another affair

now, this usually would be a horrible thing, considering all the consequences and burdens that adultery carried and whatnot. however.......... it's not like your mom's boyfriend was all that nice anyway.........

no no! what're you thinking?!

buuuuuut..... i mean.... he was a big piece of crap.... and he did cheat on your mother in the past.....

no, y/n! it's still wrong and messed up! and now you're the only one who knows what your mom is doing behind your dad-

but he's not even your dad!!
they're not even married!!!!

"hmmm..."

wow. you just really did not know what to do. i mean, you wouldn't tell your mom's boyfriend about this, no, you wouldn't. but you wouldn't necessarily keep your sudden awareness of her affair a secret, either...
