The summer festival..Futaba x kou (Ao Haru Ride)

Ramen

 Futaba P.O.V

It had been about two weeks since school had started and I still haven't talked to Kou. But me and Toma had gotten closer as all of our other friends were in different classes now.

Classes had just finished for the day and I was packing up my stuff to go home when I saw Toma walking over to me.

"Hey!" he smiled walking over to me. He sat down on the chair of the desk in front of me. "So I was thinking... I don't have anything planned this weekend so do you want to go eat some Ramen sometime?" He looked at me embarrassed.

"Yeah that sounds great!" I smiled.

"Ok! Awesome. So Saturday around 2 sounds good?" He asked happily.

"Yeah, perfect." I smiled and continued to pack up my stuff.

"Ok see you." He said as he left the class.

As I got up, I saw Kou sitting in his chair staring at me. When our eyes met he instantly looked away. I walked past him and out the door with a sigh.

Kou's P.O.V

I haven't talked to Futaba since school started. I felt really bad, but also weirdly anxious to tell her the truth. I knew I would have to at some point but I just didn't know how.

Classes were over for the day and I was getting ready to go home when I saw Toma walk over to Futaba. They talked for a bit and I over heard him say something.

"I don't have anything planned this weekend so do you want to go eat some Ramen sometime?" As he said this I held my breath and waited for her reply. I felt bad but I really want her to say no.

"Yeah that sounds great!" she replied to him and i just stared in disbelief. 

Why was I feeling like this? I mean why wouldn't she say yes. They are friends now and she likes hanging out with friends. I saw her turn around and she saw me staring at her. I looked down at my books and pretended I didn't hear anything. As she walked out the door, I heard her sigh. Was she mad?! 

I don't  know why i stood up and started running after her but i was. It was an impulsive decision and I was regretting it as soon I caught up to her. Usually she was the one running after me but here we are.

"Um. Futaba!" I called out to her. She turned her head towards me and looked at me confused.

I walked up to her and hesitated for a moment. What was I even thinking of saying?

"Um whats up?" She asked me.

"Well um, I just wanted to apologize. You know.. for the summer festival...again." I looked down and continued. "Its just that, th-"

"Its ok. Don't worry about it." She said and I looked up at her.  She smiled sadly at me then walked off "See you round." She waved.

Was she really ok? I mean I hope she was but she just looked kind of sad. Maybe she just wanted to forget about it all.

Futaba P.O.V.

"Its just that, th-" Kou was about to say something but I really didn't want to talk about it anymore. He didn't need to say anything. If he didn't want to go he didn't have to. And that was that.

"Its ok. Don't worry about it." I just said trying to smile. I walked away but I could see in the corner of my eye he was still standing there with his head down. I didn't have time to think about it anymore. I was going to prepare to see Toma! I was weirdly excited but a little nervous. I know we are just friends but...still. 

------- Saturday----

I was laying in bed when I got a text from Toma. It was the location for the Ramen restaurant. I reluctantly got out of bed and started getting ready. I took advantage of the weekend and slept in till 11 and the train ride to the Ramen place, I figured out was around 30 min. I just wore shorts and a T-shirt  and I brought my bag.

I said bye to my mum and walked out the door towards the train station. It was quite sunny and there was a slight breeze today. 

Once I got off the train I headed to the Ramen place and waited for Toma. Suddenly, i felt someone place their hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see Toma smiling at me.

"Hey!" I greeted him with a smile.

"Hey sorry to keep you waiting." He apologized as he sat down to face me.

We ordered our food then just talked about school and things for a couple of hours. After we finished eating, he asked if I wanted to go walk for a bit. I agreed ad he led me to some where quite familiar.

We sat on a bench in the middle of a park and continued talking.

"Um Toma what's this place called?" I asked. He told me the name then continued talking. It seemed really familiar but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

"Um Futaba?" He said nervously.

"Yeah whats up?" I looked at him confused

"Um are you and Kou...Like dating?" As he said this my eyes widened.

"No. Far from it actually." I said looking down at the ground.

"Oh ok, " He said with a sigh of relief." I only asked because I heard that you guys were pretty close."

"Mhm... we were..." I said sadly.

"Sorry." He apologized.

"No no its fine!" I said looking up at him. 

For a while there was just silence until..

"Um Futaba. I know this is kind of sudden but I wanted to tell you that I lik-"

 Before he could finish his phone started to vibrate. He took it out from his pocket and looked at me to say sorry and stood up to take the call. I smiled and looked back down at the ground.

We were close weren't we? I know Ive been trying to avoid him but... I miss him. I don't know why but i do. A lot...

Ok so I have an idea for this story now so I'll post some new chapters soon as its my summer holiday now!
