I jump the fence. Come on, it's really not that interesting. I'm just going to go through the woods and see if I can find anything cool like I used to. Though I'm not really sure if you would consider sparkly rocks and a dead bird very interesting. I continue through the illuminated forest, jumping over logs and rocks. I swing around a few trees out of boredom.

"How did I ever find any of this stuff interesting or fun as a kid. It's nothing but a bunch of nature and animals scurrying", I say out loud to myself.

Continuing on through the forest, I'm about to go home when I see a strange structure in the distance from above the trees.

"Well now things really are starting to get intriguing."

I continue towards the structure when I hear some noises behind me. I look around frantically trying to see what it is but, nothing. Deciding I've already gone so far I may as well continue on towards the building, or whatever it is. I'm not really fond of anything following up behind me so I start to run instead of walk. When I get closer towards the shape I finally realise how massive it really is.

"Holy hell...how can something in the middle of nowhere be so huge!?"

I take in the size and form of the structure when I finally get close to it and at a close inspection it looks a lot more like a temple, but it doesn't look that old. It actually seems quite...modern?

"Who in their right mind would put something here, especially in this generation."

I continue towards it and see that the entrance to it is open. I walk up the few steps to look inside but when I get up there the door closes right in front of me! I look around in a rush to find what could have closed the door but when I look back up at the door it appears to be open again now.

"Huh? I swear that door was literally just closed, like I have the messy hair to prove it slammed shut in my face." I say this out loud despite it being obvious no one could hear me as this place was emptier than my house on Christmas morning.

With my single brain cell I work out how dangerous this is alone and sprint as fast as I can back home, keeping in mind where this is. After about 10 or so minutes of running I reach my fence again, all out of breath. After taking a breather I jump the fence for the second time today and go back into the house. When I get inside I see Ace sitting on the couch watching TV.

Ace screams at the TV, "Yes, take his head!"

"Oh my goodness can you not be so f**king loud!"

He gets up slightly from the couch to turn and face me in the kitchen, "Oh when did you get back? Also language before I tell mom!"

"Yeah yeah I got it, and I just got back. Surprised you even noticed I was gone."

"I mean I was gonna ask you for something and you weren't here, also where did you go that made it so you came through the back door? Like that's just weird."

I go over to the couch where he is to take the remote and pause it. "Where is mom? And by the way it's none of your business where I go, but what did you even want?"

"First of all, I have no clue I'm pretty sure she is still at work. 2, Rude. And 3, I wanted to use your straightening iron for something."

I look up at him like he has lost his mind and ask, "What would you need my straightening iron for? Like for one your hair is as straight as straight can get, and two, even if you were gonna use a straightening iron for something, why not just use mom's?"

He gets up from the couch to snatch the remote from me, which he fails miserably in as he is way shorter than me, and then he states in a distressed manner from trying to get the remote still, "Mom broke her straightening iron a week ago so I couldn't use hers. Also just because my hair is straight doesn't mean I can't use it!"

I give him back the remote and then look down at him with a disappointed face, "You were going to try to make toast with it weren't you."

He keeps his head down and responds, "Okay enough of me, how about you tell me where you were since you were out for almost 2 hours."

I sit down on the other face of the couch and explain how I was out in the forest to just roam around, an obvious lie, when I came across the temple. He looks over at me like he is trying to figure out if I'm lying or how that could have happened when I say, "Don't think too hard about it you might bust a blood vessel you moron."

As soon as he is about to make a lame comeback the door opens and we see our mother come through the door with groceries. I guess this explains why she took so long. I go over to help her while my Ace says hi and then immediately leaves to go to his room like he is afraid of the two of us being in the same vicinity. After talking with my mom for a little while and helping her put the groceries away, I check the time and find that it is almost 11:00 pm. I normally go to bed around this time as I get tired easily, so I leave my mom to herself and get ready for bed. I stay on my phone in my bed for another possible 30 minutes when I presumably fall asleep. Somewhere in the midst of everyone in the house sleeping, there is something new brewing in the temple.
