"The Lone Assassin" (Completed)

Chapter 36.

A/N: just a short update, and a soft one.

Mew was dazed after he received the message from Nine. Coincidence is just too absurd as a reason, the woman has the same name and according to Nine, she looks like her mother Amelia. His mind was in deep confusion, heaving a deep sigh many times already, he didn't notice that his mate has been watching him since earlier.

Gulf can feel it, the nervous and agitated feelings that stirring up on Mew's heart. He knows serious events are bound to happen. The occurrence of each problem along the way is a sign that everything will come to an end soon. Watching his mate in deep thought, he decided to comfort him.

Walking towards Mew, he took his mate's hand and bring it to his lips to kiss. He stares at his mate lovingly trying to measure the depth of his thought.

"You know that you can share your problems with me right?, I'm here, I'm ready to listen. " Gulf said leaning his head on his mate's shoulder.

He heard Mew took a deep breath and kissed the top of his head.

"No worries baby, something in the past seemed to come back now after long years of disappearance. " Mew said with sad eyes.

"Can you elaborate? I will appreciate it if you explain more. " Gulf replied with a sly smile.

Mew chuckled at his mate's cockiness.

"You brat! Since when you became this spoiled? " Mew said smiling.

"It's your fault though, you spoiled me always! " Gulf lean to kiss Mew on his lips.

Though the plan is just a soft kiss, Gulf didn't expect that Mew will pull him closer and tightly drown him with a torrid kiss that turn into a heated makeup session. The plan of comforting his mate is successful but in a way, he didn't expect it at all.

"I bet you're okay now! " Gulf beaming a smile trying to tease his mate.

"I am and thank you! " Mew replied and lean again to kissed Gulf's forehead.

Gentle silence enveloped them when Mew speak again.

"Baby, do you want to go with me to Blazing moon pack? The pack member and other alpha are looking forward to meeting you. " Mew said trying to act calm despite the sudden nervousness. He wanted Gulf to say yes.

"Are you sure? I'm afraid that they will reject me as their Luna. I-" Gulf's word was cut off with a sudden knock on the door.

"Your Highness! Sir Alexander asked for you and the Luna at the garden area! " it's the servant.

They look at each other, Mew smiled at him and squeeze his hand as a sign that it's fine. Gulf who didn't want to add on the burden pull Mew again into a hug and whisper something that made Mew's face turned into a crimson red.

"Let's go there, I'm looking forward to blessing the bed in your room at the pack! " Gulf said then left with a smile on his face.

"Tell me since when he became a tease? " Mew asked Apollo.

"Since we got injected by that ecstasy I guess! " Apollo answered.

Mew chuckled then stride towards the door where his mate is waiting for him. Hand in hand they walk their way to meet the previous wolf king.

Alexander secretly glances at the couple who is holding hands while walking towards him. Sipping his tea, he quickly composed himself to face Mew and Gulf with a smile.

"How's your stay here Gulf? " Alexander asked smiling sweetly at his son's mate.

"I'm happy and comfortable sire, especially that Mew is here. I felt safe and secure! " Gulf intentionally says those words to tell Alexander that he is a damsel in distress that needs saving always. That he is nothing without Mew. In that way, Alexander will put his guard down.

Gulf felt Mew's warm handhold him tightly. And he also felt the sudden glared from Alexander.

"Well, that's good to hear! " Alexander said trying to keep his calm. "I called you here to asked if you guys want to join me to hunt tonight! It's been a long time I didn't do that with you Mew! " Alexander turns to face his son who is quiet since he arrived.

"Maybe next time father! We will leave after lunch to visit the pack. " Mew answered firmly. Trying to avoid having eye contact with his father.

"We? Do you mean you and the other alphas? It's fine if you leave Gulf here, I will take good care of him, you don't have to worry! " Alexander asked again.

"No! We! Me and Gulf. I will bring him to meet the pack. I think it's time to introduce him as a Luna. " Mew said calmly but in a serious tone.

Alexander felt like a fire ignite in him. He didn't know that his son is planning something like this and it will bring disadvantages on his part.

"Are you sure? Think about it thoroughly, it's not that I'm against your union but Blazing moon pack is the biggest pack in the country. We don't know how they will react if ever! " Alexander stated, taking a deep breath.

He didn't notice that Gulf has been observing him the moment he open his mouth earlier.

"No! Don't worry father! They will be happy meeting my beloved as their future luna. I'm sure they will love Gulf as much as I love him. So there's no need to prolong on introducing him to our people. " Mew said and stood up to leave. Guiding his mate, he took Gulf's hand and interlock their fingers in front of his father.

They are about to leave when Mew speaks again.

"And father! Please order everyone to prepare a grand ball next month on the full moon. Inform all the elites and elders, I will introduce Gulf to the whole wolf clan! " Mew said bowing slightly to his father who is dumbfounded with his statement.

Alexander clenches his fist tightly until blood drips from his palm. All his plan is ruined with just a word from his son.

Mew motioned Gulf to go back to the room first for he will call Bright and Zee to accompany them on their way to the Blazing Moon pack. Gulf obediently followed.

He is walking on his way to their room when his eyes darted on the grand staircase where the painting of a white wolf with blue eyes is I'm displayed.

His legs move on their own towards the staircase and stopped at the front of the painting of a white wolf. His hand slowly lift up and gently caress the canvas. He felt a thousand electricity traveled on his veins and a sudden flashed of image unfolded in front of him.

Five people in a black cloak, walking together. Every vampire and wolf bow at them and didn't dare to meet their eyes. Trembling in fear and crying softly.

Gulf's eyes focused on a man in the center. His face is hidden but he has a tattoo of a half sun and a half-moon with a shade of red. Gulf look closely at it as if he wanted to imprint that image into his memory afraid that he might forget it.

He slowly look up but was taken aback when a man with a tattoo slowly approaching him. His breathing hitch, the body became stiff. As the man steps closer he can't take his eyes off him. The man's hand reaches out to him and caresses his face with his finger.

"A star tattoo? " Gulf utter to himself.

He look up again to see the man's face but his eyes went wide with the image. His breathing became shallow as if he was taken into the pit of darkness and bound to stay there. He felt like he is about to fall but the man quickly hold his arm while looking into his eyes.

"Mew? " Gulf said while he close his to embrace the darkness.
