Scars {G-Idle}

Chapter 10

"Soyeon?" Miyeon popped her head into her room. "Sana called me and said Momo needs to talk to you."

"It's 6 in the morning..."

"She's insistent."

"Momo?" Soyeon took the phone from her. "What's up?"

"Look... I can't sleep. The hospital called and told me that Jeongyeon... well... she had a panic attack."

"Is she okay?"

"Do you call attacking the doctors and hurting herself so much that they had to tie her up okay?"

"Wait, what?!" Soyeon gasped. "Okay, stay put and I'll be over right away."

"Please! I need someone who knows what she's going through."

The G-Idle leader bolted up and dashed out into the dead of night to their van, driving to the Twice dorm as fast as she can.

"Soyeon!" Momo wailed, running out to meet her. "C-come here!"

"Whoa, whoa, calm down." Soyeon held her hands.

"I can't calm down, dammit! They had to put her in a straitjacket and when she broke out of that before they could put it on her fully, so they tied her up! Tied her up, like a damn animal! They won't even let me see her!"

"Doesn't the hospital open for visiting hours at 7am?"

"Yeah..."

"Then let's go when they open. I want to see Minnie too, but I can help you out."

"Minnie?" Momo narrowed her eyes. "I know it was her!"

"What do you mean?" Soyeon blinked as they walked back inside.

"She hurt my Jeongyeon! She knew it was her!"

"Momo, Minnie was forced to hurt her! Those people hurt her as much as they hurt your girl."

"Do you even know what they did to her?!" Momo screeched. "They abused her long after when they made Minnie do it! Long after! Every day, she came home with bruises and whip marks because they threatened us and her sister Seungyeon if she didn't take the punishment! At one point, they even kidnapped Seungyeon and made her watch Jeongyeon be tortured to within an inch of her life!"

"Oh, Momo..." Soyeon swallowed. "That's terrible."

"I remember when Seungyeon brought her back to us... crying... with Jeongyeon in her arms. I thought she wouldn't survive that night... and she was in so much pain! Seungyeon described the torture so vividly, her voice cracking... as she told us how they had broken her... and I couldn't believe it. Having to watch her younger sister like that... it had to have been heartbreaking... and I saw the results of it. Her body twisted... bloody... oh god, she was screaming! When she got back from the hospital after two weeks... that's when she started cutting."

"Minnie started cutting too... after she came home with bruises... and I wonder if that was what happened to her too." Soyeon bit her lip.

Momo sniffled. "She cut every day... so we never let her go anywhere alone. Our poor Jeongyeon... we had to help her, but we couldn't figure out how. Sana showered with her every night, Jihyo, Mina, Nayeon and I took shifts on watching her while she slept to make sure she didn't get up in the middle of the night and jump out a window."

"We... didn't watch Minnie close enough," the leader admitted. "We should have and we didn't. She started taking medication and stopped cutting for a while... until we came home from a concert and found out she had cut when we left her behind at the dorm. Then she tried to drown herself while Yuqi was asleep." Soyeon exhaled. "I know it's nothing compared to Jeongyeon, but I sort of understand the struggle."
