When we got John home my dad was more then happy to let John stay. And John was more then grateful for us looking after him. The two of us did have a laugh and I thought it was a turning point. One day we decided to play truth or dare. As John insisted that he was becoming more self dependent (if that's the right word) he ended up in a dress.

He was walking round on his crutches wearing my least favourite, bright pink, dress. I burst out laughing as he sat down. He wore it for the rest of the game which made the two of us cry.

One day I got my guitar out and the two of us sat on my bed and we sang together. Then we attempted writing a song together. I sat there working something out on my guitar when John took it from me. Thinking he was going to play something, I looked to him. But he didn't, he lent forward and kissed me. His lips were so soft and gentle, but I was dating Stuart. As if John knew how I felt he backed away.

"I'm sorry" John muttered

"Don't be" I replied

"But I've been a burden to you and now I'm kissing you when you have a boyfriend" John carried on

"Don't say that, you haven't been a burden. In all honesty I've enjoyed having you here" I said before going to hug him

The following day we had school but I was never going to tell Stuart about mine and John's kiss. As we got there Stuart seemed happy to see us as I had been off to look after John.

"How are you two getting on?" He asked wrapping his arm around my shoulders

"Well we haven't killed each other yet" I replied smiling at John

We headed inside and to form, which we have together. John moved to sit next to me as I look after his tablets.

"Rosalind" John muttered

I turned to look at him as the actual lesson was boring.

"Yeah?" I asked

"I want to apologise for everything" John replied taking hold of my hand

"You don't need to, the time you've been spending with me made up for it" I protested

At lunch they had band practice. I went along while Stuart was talking to a teacher.

"How is it going to work without Paul?" I asked
"He's in a totally different school"

"It will work" Pete replied

I grabbed John a chair while he pulled out his guitar. As John began singing a shiver went down my spine from how amazing it was. His voice carried so well and there was little to no vibrato. When he held in a note I found myself waiting for more. When he finished i sat back in my chair. No one said anything, i didnt know if they felt like me or just didnt know what to say. Stuart came over and put his hands on my shoulders.

After school Paul came round for him and John to have a play together. I listened to the two sing and chat. Paul suggested writing songs but John claimed he only writes poems.

"I met this new lad, i think he would be good for the band" Paul said

"Lets wait until i can walk again" John said

Paul agreed before my dad called up saying that dinners ready. He left us to have dinner where we all realised non of us have our mums around. The three of us really bonded and i cant imagine what life was like before John began talking to me without throwing in the odd insult. He still does give me insults but in a joking way, they are always followed up with a smile. Life with John living with me was amazing. But that soon ended once he got the cast taken off his leg.
