caseywhitman hi everyone, i want to give you all a life update and explain why i have been absent for the past year. there is a lot to share so sit tight!
as you all know, this time last year i was in ibiza with @ross_lynch and it was such an amazing trip but we weren't being completely honest. two weeks before that trip ross and i had a very difficult but much needed conversation. up until that point, ross and i weren't being truthful to ourselves and to any of you. we had been in a staged relationship from the fourth of july last year until our conversation in ross's apartment. i won't go into specifics but i want to say that the 'staged' elements of our relationship were completely mutual, and beneficial for the both of us and those who were informed of our situation. we both wholeheartedly realise that it was wrong to fool those who have been so supportive of us; as individuals or together, but at that moment in time we put our careers above anything else.
in private, our relationship had been tumultuous even before we expressed our true feelings. both of us were being stubborn and unwilling to intentionally let our guards down, resulting in unnecessary tension, distance and arguments. we just needed to be truthful with one another. at last, we were able to confront our pasts and the obstacles that were holding us back from being with one another, for real. it was as if the world's axis had shifted and i was finally where i was meant to be. i still feel that way today, ross completes me and has irrevocably changed my life - i'm completely okay with that.
we have taken the past year to focus on our relationship, friendships and blending our families. we have also spent our time making music; individually, with each other and with our own bands, which was the respite that we both needed, personally and professionally. we understand that this was not the most logical move to make, given the reason why we made the agreement in the first place but we had to do what was best for us. we hope you continue to follow and support us on our crazy journey of life.
so some exciting news now!! the photo you see with this long-ass caption (lol) is just one part of mine and ross's new home!! I'M A HOME OWNER!!!
this is our beautiful home in boulder, colorado. ross and i realised, after much discussion, that we wanted boulder to be our forever home whilst still travelling to la for our career and music commitments. we just love this place so much and know that we'll be our happiest living here.
i want to say thank you all so much for your unwavering patience, kindness and support. it means so much to me and i'm so excited for the next chapter! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
