The person at the door ended up just being a priest checking up on me.

I wish Lucas would come back, it's so lonely eating all alone, he said he'll be back later tonight, I hope he's not lying.

That day seemed to pass by so slowly, I had my lessons as per usual and excelled in them once again. I finally was able to relax during my late afternoon walk. The flowers' sweet aroma was able to calm me down, causing my mind to drift.

'Why was I so stressed in the first place?' When it seemed I was close to the answer I felt a poke on my shoulder.

"Goddess Alice, we've been calling for you, it is time to prepare for bed." Fiona leads me inside where Anna is waiting.

We arrived at my bedroom, they undressed me then slid on a soft yellow nightgown, it was laced in a white ribbon. I washed my face and cleaned my teeth.

When I exited the bathroom Anna and Fiona both stood by the vanity waiting for me. I sat down, Anna grabbed the brush and began to gentilly brush through my hair. When she finished I was placed in my bed and the candle was blown out.

"Goodnight goddess Alice, we pray you have a peaceful sleep tonight." Anna and Fiona exit the room leaving me alone in my bed.

The window creaked open, sitting up I stare at the man crawling through my window,
"Lucas," I smiled at his name. I missed him oh so much. He looked up at me, next thing I knew he was holding on to me.

"Is something wrong again?" I gently placed my hand on his head, and once again noticed his horns.

"I know how lonely and sad you must have been, I'm sorry I couldn't get here earlier."  He stares up at me with apologetic eyes.

"It's fine, you kept your promise and came to see me tonight." I pat his head.

"Are you a demon?" I suddenly ask, he seems taken aback by this,
"W-why, why does it matter?" He holds on to me tighter.

"I was merely curious, it looked like you had horns but I wasn't completely sure." He grabbed my wrist and pulled me close to him so that our faces were only inches apart.

"Does it matter?" His voice sent shivers down my spine, I can't let him scare me.

"Well of course not," I yanked my wrist from his grasp. He seemed shocked at my sudden movement.

He leaned in close, wrapping his arms around me. Even though I couldn't move, I didn't want to. I let my annoyance fade, Lucas wasn't mad at me, he was scared, scared to lose me.
