It's All Going to Be Okay

The next morning my alarm went off, as it startled both of us. I jumped up, stretching, and then looked over to Arizona, turning her head back over. I laid back down as I stared at the ceiling. I got up, went to the bathroom, and then came back, changing into a sports bra and a tank. I got my shoes on and grabbed my headphones.

"Gracie?" Arizona asked.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"What are you doing?" She asked, rubbing her eyes.

"I'm going for a run before school, I always do," I said.

"It's midnight," she yawned. I laughed as she then looked at her phone sitting up.

"It's 6 am, we both passed out after that movie," I said.

"I can't believe we fell asleep, were so old," she laughed. "I'm going to head to my bed, have a good day, I'll see you after school," she said. I nodded as she hugged me, and I kissed her cheek as she closed the door and I heard giggles, forgetting Amelia was over.

"Hi baby, I was wondering where you were," Amelia said.

"I had a movie night with Gracie, and we both passed out, it was nice to just be with her," Arizona said. I smiled as I walked downstairs, grabbed my house key, and then I walked outside feeling the brisk air. I threw my hair up in a bun and started on my run. I got to the end of my path where I turn around and saw the sun rising. I sat down on the grass and grabbed my phone. I snapped photos and just watched the sun come up. I smiled as I got up and started heading back so I could get ready. I walked through the door and shut the door behind me.

"What took you so long?" Meredith asked.

"What do you mean? I always go on a 2-mile run," I asked, taking my shoes off.

"I time your runs. I get worried," she stated.

"I stopped and watched the sunrise, it was beautiful this morning," I said, showing her a few pictures. She smiled, wrapping her arms around me.

"As long as your safe. I heard about yesterday, so I wanted to make sure that everything was okay," she said, kissing my head. I nodded as I kissed her cheek and headed upstairs. I undressed grabbing my towel, and headed into the bathroom, and got in the shower. I saw I had enough time to straighten my hair, so I scrubbed my head and just let it fall down my back. After I got out, I put lotion on and brushed my teeth.

"Grace, can I sneak in and get in the shower please?" Lexie asked.

"Yeah, I'm in a towel, you're good," I said. She walked in and got in the shower as I turned. I dried my hair thoroughly and walked back to my room as I got sat down, putting my makeup on. I decided to wear jeans to school today and put on my favorite pair of medium-wash ripped jeans. I put a belt on, and then looked through my shirts to see what I wanted to wear. Lexie barged in as I covered my chest, as she stopped and apologized.

"I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention to what room, I'm sorry Grace," she said.

"You're fine, you just scared me," I said. She nodded as I looked back in my closet and stopped her. "I don't know what shirt to wear," I said. She walked over in her towel and looked through my shirts.

"Hm, what about this maroon long-sleeve?" She asked. I nodded as she left and I shut the door, slipping the shirt on. I didn't like wearing tight shirts, but I liked how it matched the outfit. I changed my bra to a bralette to make it look fancier with the lace. I slipped on my white vans, and then straightened parts of my hair that I missed with the hairdryer. I made my bed, and grabbed my phone, and headphones, packing up my bag.

"Phone, headphones, backpack...oh yeah, laptop," I laughed. I grabbed my laptop and charger, made sure I had everything and put on my favorite pendant necklace that Arizona got me for my sixteenth birthday. I walked downstairs, setting my bag on the couch, and headed to the kitchen for breakfast. "Lexie, do you want an egg burrito?" I asked. She nodded as I got the ingredients out and made 3 of them. I handed Meredith one as I sat at the table next to her.

"Thank you, how are you feeling today?" She asked.

"I'm happy to not miss school," I said. Meredith smiled at me, as I looked over at Lexie. "What?" I asked.

"Are you going to talk to Maya today?" She asked. I nodded, as I blushed, and tried to hide my face.

"Maya? What's going on?" Meredith asked, smiling at me.

"I like Maya more than a friend," I said.

"Aw, really? Do you think she likes you in that way?" She asked.

"I'm not too sure honestly, but I feel like she does. We're inseparable at school," I said. Meredith smiled, setting her coffee cup down. I noticed the time, finishing my burrito, and I got up quickly rinsing the dishes, as I started to get food together for my cold lunch.

"I made a lunch for you this morning," Meredith said, pulling out my lunch box. I looked inside and smiled as I got an ice pack and a water bottle.

"Thank you so much," I said.

"Of course, I just haven't been able to fall asleep. I saw your lunchbox and decided to just make you a cold lunch for today. I smiled and hugged her as Lexie was dropping me off at school today.

"Ready Grace?" Lexie asked. I nodded as I kissed Meredith's cheek and grabbed my lunchbox, water bottle, and backpack. I got in the car with Lexie as she drove me to school. "Have a good day," she said, pulling up to the main doors.

"Thank you for dropping me off," I said, hugging her.

"Of course, I got you, hun. Have a good day," she said. I nodded getting out as I saw Maya and she ran up to me, jumping into my arms hugging me. Lexie saw as she drove away, and I waved as I held onto Maya. Her dark curls bouncing onto her back, and the blazer outfit she was wearing. She was always dressed up, and I decided to start dressing up with her.

"Sorry, I just missed you," she said.

"It's okay, I missed you too," I said. We walked inside as we walked to the cafeteria, sitting down. "Do you want to be in the café or library today? It's Wednesday," I said. Wednesdays were late start at the high school, and we had to either stay in the gym, cafeteria, or the library until the bell rang.

"Oh yeah, let's do library," she said. I nodded as we headed to my locker, and I put my lunch away as we headed to the library, and we found a table behind the books.
