Phil's POV

Excitement rushes through me as I hear the buzzer. Today I am seeing Simon, a friend I haven't seen since University and it's been too long. Hopefully he's still the person I remember him being.

"Calm down, Phil. You're like an excitable puppy." Dan smiles, beginning to move his stuff onto the arm chair, finding a weak browsing position.

"You don't need to move." I press the button to open the door.

"I'm giving you a bit of socialising space."

I shake my head fondly, running a hand through Dan's slighty hobbiting hair as I walk past him to the front door.

"Hey, mate," Simon smiles, pulling me into one of those awkward manly hugs.

I pull away quickly, "Hello." I say in a slightly flustered voice.

"So you live in a London apartment... must have gotten a pretty good job to afford one of these. A banker? An accountant?"

I look at the floor, a blush spreading across my cheeks, " A youtuber. And it's not just my apartment..." We are walking through the living room door at this point, "This is Dan, my boyfriend."

"Of course..." Simon mumurs at the exact same time Dan looks up from his laptop with a friendly half - smile,

"Hey."

Simon nods in Dan's general direction, "So when are we going out?" He sits on the far end of the couch, straightening Dan's sofa crease.

I give him a pointed look as Dan's face drops, his eyes narrowing as he looks at my friend through new eyes.

"What?" Simon continues puffing the sofa cushions, "They can't be very comfortable like that."

Dan face rises into a smile, a mocking look rising in his eyes, "No of course not. In fact I was going to straighten them but I didn't get enough time."

"I thought we could go out a little later, maybe for pizza or something? I know a really good-" Simon cuts me off, shaking his head in what I'd say was disgust,

"Oh I was thinking more like a nightclub. There's a really good one just down the road."

Dan's gaze meets mine, second hand fear clear on his face. As the one who usually came to night clubs with me, Dan had experienced all my little 'mishaps'. In fact he'd had to rescue me a few times from being beaten up. After a few bad situations we came to a mutual agreement that we were too awkward for night clubs and that we shouldn't ever go again.

"Erm..."

"Cool it's settled then." Simon clapped his hands together, "I thought I would go see my mum while I am here. I'll come back at around 8ish."

"Yeah sure. I'll show you out."

As soon as we heard the front door shut, Dan looked at me, "He ruined my sofa crease. Oh my god..."

"He isn't how I remembered him. And I don't want to go to a night club." I pout.

"He's a twat." Dan says, beginning to pat the sofa into a familiar shape.

"He just-" I step closer to Dan, beginning to wrap my arms around him-

"Exactly! He just ruined my comfortable browsing position, the little shit!" Dan shouts, making me cringe away.

A few seconds of us just looking at eachother and Dan pulls me to him, "I'm sorry. I just got angry. I'd much rather you were in having a pizza date with me."

I go on my tiptoes, brushing a kiss across his forehead, "I'd rather be eating pizza too....Maybe Simon might be nicer later."

Dan nods, letting out another frustrated sigh, "We need to break this sofa in again."

---------------------------
Just after 7, Simon returned, clothes changed and hair slightly quiffed. Dan having reluctantly let him in, was making small talk with him over a laptop screen. I press my ear against the wall.

"I'm not entirely sure he wants to go..." Dan mumurs.

"How would you know?! I've known him longer." Simon says in a snippy voice.

Dan coughs, probably trying to stop himself from attacking my 'friend'.

"So wife? Kids?" Dan was asking as I decided to walk into the room.

"No. Only a group of sluts and some condoms." Simon saw me, "You ready to go?"

"Not really." I say.

"It's not to late to book a table at Zizzi's." Dan says, giving me a worried look.

"No I haven't been to this club in ages." Simon practically drags me out our apartment.

"I love you." Dan calls as the front door slams shut behind me.
---------------------

At the club, Simon immediately gets a drink, "Come on, Phil. You need to loosen up a bit."

I shrug, making eye contact with a drunk guy across the room. The guy immediately starts clenching his fists. I look away, "Ok, fine. Let's go and dance."

5 minutes into dancing and Simon already has a girl grinding against him, lips locked with his. I look away awkwardly, seeing someone with a fox tattoo. I become transfixed with the way it gleams on her sweat covered skin.

"Oi! That's my girl." A big, bald guy suddenly shouts, shoving me across the dance floor. I collide with another big guy who has cool tattoo sleeves running up his arms. Sleeve guy pushes me back to bald guy, hence starting a horrific game of Phil tennis. Eventually I manage to sink to the floor, crawling away back to the bar. Simon is no where to be seen.

A brief check of my phone says it's 10:30, and that Simon has left with the girl. I'm alone. Great.

I call a taxi and then wait in the doorway, not trusting the London streets at night.

Surprisingly, Dan is half asleep when I get back, curled up on the sofa with a bowl of popcorn in front of him and the credits rolling on the screen.

"Phil?" He mumurs into a throw pillow, "Did you have fun with Simon?"

"No, I didn't. Come on, let's go to bed."

A very sleepy Dan plods to bed behind me, watching me get changed through hooded eyes, "So what happened?" He smiled.

"A guy threatened to pinch me from across the room and then two guys decided to play Phil tennis after I accidentally looked at one of their girlfriend's tattoos. Eventually I managed to crawl away."

Dan laughs, those adorable dimples showing on his cheeks, "And where was Simon through all this?"

"Probably having sex with a girl in the bathrooms."

"Yeah that doesn't surprise me..." Dan held out his arms, wrapping his body around me as I got into bed.

"Simon's a dick. He said he knew you better than me." Dan mumbles into my hair.

"You know me better than anybody... I'm not going to see Simon again."

"Good."

I turn in Dan's grasp, planting my lips on his, "I never got to say I love you earlier."

Sleepily Dan nods, lips moving slowly against mine.

"Bear?"

"Mmm"

"I love you."

Dan smiles, "Is it too late to order a pizza."
