Mai POV:
I followed the swarm of students. Greeting some with a coo or a hoot. My talons wrapped around a gargoyle's neck and I stood there, observing the students flood past and through the open Great Hall doors.
I chattered my beak together as I fell from the Gargoyle and took flight again, the sound of my large matt black wings beating against the air fill the hallway. Diving through the doorway and up into the open space of the Hall.
I sqawked a goodmorning to everyone and made my way to the Teachers-Table at the front, clinging to the hand Snape offers out. "Good morning Snape."
"Good morning Mai, I assume you slept well?" Snape asked as he recoiled his hand to his body.
"Of course, I hope you slept well yourself."
"I did. Thank you for asking." Snape smiled with a sigh. Offering a small dead mouse to her, which she takes in her talon and rips apart. Looking up at the crowd every once in awhile.
Dumbledore rose to his feet with a smile. "Another year gone. This year has been rather wild. We gained a living mascot. Fifth years have offically passed their OWLs. And seventh years will unfortunately be leaving us to continue their journey through life. Please. But. Before we Feast, We need to announce the House cup winner!" He smiled and dramatically waved his hands. Everyone was as silent as anything. "In fourth place! With 367 House points. HufflePuff! In Third place with 389 House Points! RavenClaw! In Second place with 434 House points! Gryffindor! And Finally! With 439 House Points! Slytherin!"
Mai chirped proudly and smiled at the house in front of her.
"I believe there's a need for Decorations! Mai! If you would like to do the honors for your former house?" Dumbledore smiles as Banners fell down from every gargoyle that hung in the Great Hall. I looked at him and took off, hooting and squealing. My talons wrapped tightly around a green ribbon that had fallen from above the Slytherin table and flew off dragging it with me.
The ribbon unwrapped and above green balloons and grey confetti exploded out, covering the Slytherin table. I smiled and landed on the table, draping the ribbon over the Prefect and Head boy of Slytherin. The Prefect huffed a chuckle and dragged the Ribbon off.
I smiled at the Head Boy fondly before taking off again and making my way to the Head Table.
After the Feast all the students made their way down to the Train, chatting with their friends. I sat on Hagrids shoulder silently deep in thought.
"Hagrid?"
"Yes, Mai?"
"I'm coming with you next year to help the new first year's to the castle."
"If tha's what yeh wan' to do."
