A short little story with Roy and baby Lian with the song 'Keep your head up Princess.'

Roy stared down at the baby girl in his arms.

In this moment, everything was perfect. She was perfect. His beautiful baby Lian.

No matter what happens, he promised to always protect her. She was his Princess.

Even if her mom didn't want to be in the picture, he wasn't alone. He had Oliver and Jason. Kori and Dick. Even Wally could be helpful sometimes.

He had his family. His friends.

Things would be okay. They would be. Because no matter what, he was Lian's daddy. Always and forever.

He started to hum softly, watching her grab at his finger and pull it to her mouth.

Soft coos and gurgles making him smile widely. Her big round eyes stared back at him, sleep slowly became evident in them.

His hums turned into words as he started to sing to her.

"Keep your head up Princess before your crown falls. Now these voices in your head will be your downfall."

She cooed softly, wiggling around for a moment before settling comfortably against his chest.

His hands held her protectively, cradling her to him. He'd never held anything so small before that wasn't a weapon.

In a way it was terrifying, but in the best ways, it was incredible.

"I know it gets hard, but you don't got far to go."

She yawned adorably and moved a hand up to her mouth, finding her thumb to suck on it.

Roy sighed happily, gently rubbing her back. He knew he'd do anything for her.

He'd already gone past his own expectations as a father. And he'd keep pushing himself to be the best father for her.

"And the path leads right to where they won't go. I know it hurts right now, but I know you'll make it home."

Her eyes drifted closed and she made one last noise before falling asleep.

Roy's heart felt full. Everything he never knew he needed right here in his arms. A love he didn't know he could possessed was that of a father.

Even if he did have to do this alone, he knew he'd make it. For her.

"So Keep your head up...so keep your head up."

He placed a gentle kiss on her head, still holding her in his arms. He honestly didn't think he'd ever be able to put her down. So he didn't.

He kept her just like this and sat down in the chair by her crib. He'd slept in worse places.

Chuckling to himself, he closed his eyes, letting sleep take over with the knowledge that she was safe.
