Her Knight In Shining Armor

Cydea frowned.

"Here." I said, handing the sword back.

Cydea sighed. "Do you, Memory of Seheron, swear to protect and against all odds?"

"Yes."

"And now with the power in me, I announce you as my knight."

...

"This doesn't mean I don't hate you. I will tolerate you." Cydea says.

"I'm sure we'll be great friend soo-"

"Sword." Cydea says.

I handed her the extra sword. "You can keep that."

"Thank you."

"Why do you want-" Cydea hit my sword with hers.

"Hit me!"

"I am not-"

"Hit me. Teach me how to fight. I need to know."

"Why?"

"Because I... I'm going to..." Cydea paused. "It's not important. I just need to know."

"Okay then. So, you have to hold the sword like this..."

...

"I'm going to bed." Cydea said, going into her room. "Uh, there's a room right there for you."

"Thank you, Cydea." I said, and grabbed the amulet out of my pocket. "This is for you. It'll let me know where you are in case you're in trouble."

Cydea frowned, but she grabbed it from me anyways. "I'm not going to say thank you for the amulet, but... thanks for the consideration."

"Goodnight, Cydea."

Cydea shut her door, and I went into my new room.

It was so... large. And empty. It was blue, thankfully. I loved blue.

I plopped down on the bed and saw that my bags were in here. Sweet!

I pulled out a piece of paper.

I'd barely written anything, but my hand hurt. Probably from trying to write neatly.

The amulet I'd given Cydea was something that I'd made before I left home. It was meant to be for... someone else, in case I'd made a friend, but I wasn't going to, so I'd given it to Cydea.

Cydea was mean, but I was sure she'd open up to me.

I looked back at my note.
