CHAPTER FIVE

SAM

I cant seem to hide the feeling when it comes to Adam for the past 3 days I cant seem to take my eyes from the door when the clock hits five unfortunately he never showed. I started to think that maybe he didn't actually feel the same.

Its been four days since we had our little walk. I'd like to think that we could actually do it again. I'm not keeping my hopes up though.

I checked the time before grabbing my bag and left work I plugged my earphones in because the walk would be long.

When I got to my neighbors house I could see a figure standing at my gate with a black hoodie on. I reached into my bag and grabbed my pepper spray.

I walked closer to the person standing, when I got close enough I closed my eyes and started spraying my weapon. I heard a familiar voice screaming in pain. embarrassment hit me when I realized that the figure was Adam.

Adam?!

ahh yeah, its me

Oh my God I'm so sorry, I didnt know it was you

I put my weapon back into my bag and turned to him trying to think of something that might help

itll wear off he said through the pain

yeah in like 10 minutes, why are you dressed like that at this time of night, standing in the dark, what if I had a gun?

Then Id probably be dead, since you dont actually ask questions before you attack.

I sighed closing my bag

What are you doing here? I asked to forget about the conversation we were having before

Well i came for that walk u promised me. He said while blinking his eyes as if they were about to fall out of place.

Technically I didnt promise you, but I did agree to it.

We walked around my block for an hour. For about 10 minutes I had to practically drag him because his eyes were still burning.

So you live with both parents? breaking the hour of silence we had.

Ahh, no I live with just my mother.

No siblings?

Nope, just me

I neared my home for the 100th time tonight. I pulled out my phone to check the time seeing that its already 8:45.

I better go in now because I have a double shift tomorrow.

I turned around heading towards my front door, when I felt his strong hands pulled me closer to him. I think hes gonna kiss me, accepting it, accepting my first kiss. Even through closed eyes I could still see the bright lights beaming through my brain. I quickly opened my eyes and of course its the police driving slowly towards us. Im sure someone must have seen us walking around the neighborhood far longer than we should and called them.

What are you kids doing out here?

Well I was about to get the kiss of my life until you shined your stupid lights this direction I wanted to say but knowing I'd never say it I just stood there.

Im sorry officer, we were just taking a walk.

The office took a good look at us before adding Well you're disturbing the neighbors

He looked over at the house on his right. Adam and I turn just in time to see a lady closing her windows.

Which one of you live here? He pointed to my house.

Me, I live here I added

Well young lady, i think you should head in. he looked over at Adam

Do you want a ride home?

No, actually I drove here. Adam pointed to a car I never realized was parked there.

Ill see you around Sam he said before walking to his car.

At this point I hate both the officer and that lady behind the curtains.
