Chapter 28 - Oikawa

Oikawa hummed as he looked ahead before looking at Y/n who was running back to the gym with Hinata's bag in her hands.

He stood up straight as he looked at her.

"Yahoo!! Y/n-chan!!" He called out to her.

Y/n stopped running and looked at him as he walked towards her.

"How are you doing?" He asked while standing in front of her.

"Senpai, let's talk later, I'm kinda in a rush."

She told but he held her arm to make her face him.

"No, please. Let's talk now." He looks at her sadly.

"But-"

"What's taking you so lo-"

She was cut off with Kageyama standing a few meters away and staring at them.

Oikawa let's her go as he now glared at Kageyama who was walking towards Oikawa.

"Tobio-kun.." Y/n looked at Kageyama.

"Go to the gym, people are waiting for you." He told while keeping his eyes on Oikawa. "I'll be there soon."

She nodded before running off.

They waited before she was out of sight before Oikawa scoffed.

"Well look who we have here, it is you, Tobio-chan" Oikawa smirked.

Kageyama glared at him.

"Oikawa-san, please, just focus on the game and not something else."

"Huh?" He crossed his arms and raised his eyebrow. "I don't want to hear this from you." He chuckled. "I'm ALWAYS at the top of my game." He then looked at Kageyama with a smirk.

"And I'm going to beat you." He added. "Not only in the game. But also for my Princess."

"We have been practicing for a long time, we won't lose." Kageyama turned around as he started walking. "You'll never get Y/n. I won't let you have her. It's the mistake that I have done once."

Oikawa gritted his teeth.

"You stupid brat, who do you think you are?"

Kageyama stopped walking.

"Y/n's boyfriend." He turned to face him and smirked.

Oikawa walked towards him and placed his hand on his shoulder, gripping a little hard on him.

"You got a lot of nerve to call yourself her boyfriend."

Kageyama turned towards him and glared at him.

"Im the one who knows her longer than you have." Oikawa smirked.

"Yet I'm the one who got that first kiss." Kageyama smirked and tilts his head whole resting his hand on his waist.

This comment angered Oikawa that he punched Kageyama across his face.

The boys were finally preparing to start the match when Kageyama walked in before Oikawa, covering his cheek with his hand.

"Where were you?? We're about to start." Daichi told.

"I'm sorry." Kageyama bowed down a little before looking at Y/n and giving her a small smile to assure that everything was okay.

Kageyama took his hand off to disclose a light bruise that can be seen up close, but lucky for him, everyone was too busy with focusing on the game that no one noticed his face, except for Y/n.

She widened her eyes and looked at him, but didn't get a chance to ask him anything since he walked with the boys to the court.

As the main team entered the court and took their position, they were also surprises to see the Oikawa was not in the team.

"That's weird, he's supposed to be there." Y/n muttered.

"We heard he has a knee injury and is still in a recovery period." Kiyoko told as she looked at the boys.

The game started and it was intense that everyone was drawn into the match. The first set was already over with Seijou's victory and the boys were currently resting up before the second set started.

Kageyama was drinking from the Pocari swear bottle when Y/n approached him.

"Tobio-kun...the bruise..." She looked down and held on to the notepad she had in her hand.

"Hm? Is it noticeable?" Kageyama looked at her and asked.

"Uh-well, kinda." She looks at him. "Wha-"

The whistle was blown and the boys went back to the court.

She sighed and rubbed her forehead at how she couldn't ask him but shrugged the thought off.

The second set was coming to a close and Karasuno was a few points behind but they all still kept their spirits.

Y/n looked over at Oikawa, who glanced at her with a smile before exiting the gym.

She told Kiyoko that she'd be back and exited the gym as well as she followed Oikawa.

He entered the boys restroom and she stood out of the restroom to wait for him, only to have Oikawa open the door to pull her in, taking her to one of the stall as he locked the door.

Before she could say something, Oikawa covered her mouth with his hand as he pointed his finger on his lips to gesture her to keep quiet.

"If you make a noise people will get the wrong idea." He told calmly.

"Why'd you bring me here??" She whispered and frowned.

"Why were you following me?" He grinned.

"Because I just wanted to know what happened with you and Tobio-kun. Why'd he have a bruise?"

Oikawa looks away sadly and clicked his tongue.

"You actually care about him more than me?"

She looks at him silently before being pushed against the wall with his hands on her shoulders.

"Tell me, what did I do wrong? In fact, what went wrong in between us??"

"We were too young. End of story." She shrugged and looked away. (Yeah right, you're still young, by the way... XD but middle schoolers get in relationship nowadays so that's agreeable.)

"That's not it. You said that you wanted things to end."

"There's no use holding on to something that didn't matter anymore." She looked at him. "You fell out of love and didn't feel anything, I understood that. It's a surprise with how you even approached me and asked me to be your girlfriend in the first place."

"It wasn't meant to be like this, I promise." He held her hands. "At first, I just wanted to be with you because of the rumours. I wanted people to see that I can change the girl who they thought were someone who just played around and actually wanted to make you fall for me in that process. I wanted to be the one to dump you in the first place...." He looked down and wiped hos eyes with the back of his hand.

"But I didn't know that I'd fall for you instead, that too after we were done." He told and gave a pitiful chuckle. "After YOU ended things."

She looks at him confused while raising her eyebrow.
