Mythica woke up the next morning, feeling refreshed. She leapt of her bed and went to the wardrobe. She nudged the door open with her paw. She then emerged from her cave room fifteen minutes later, wearing a red neck kerchief in the same shade as the curtains at the ridge, and a matching cape with gold embroidery. She padded into the kitchen where her mum was standing on her back legs cooking breakfast.
Now, I am not quite sure how to explain this, but there were some animals that were exactly the same as animals in the human world, and these were ones that were still used as food. There were rules of course. For example, an Eagle would never consider eating an ordinary bird, but would be fine with eating fish.
So Mythica padded into the kitchen where her mother was making breakfast, which was actually porridge. She grabbed a bowl with her teeth, and hurriedly gobbled it down, getting all round her muzzle, having not got thumbs. She licked her lips.
"Mum, I'm going to the ridge, to meet up with friends.", she explained, going to the cave exit, which had a Midnight blue curtain as a door.
"Okay then," her mither replied, turned round"But please be careful on the way, I heard that there was an earthquake last night near the Arctic ice cave, so there might be an avalanche."
Mythica gulped " I'll be carful. Bye". And with that, she swept out of the door.

About fifteen minutes later, Mythica was at the flattest part of the mountain, near the ridge. She thought that all the Arctic places were nice, with there fires and cosy tents. This bit had a frozen lake in the middle that began to crake if lots of people jumped on it, a shop and cafe, which was half bricks, half tent, steam geysers that enclosed a turquoise natural hot tub, and near the top was the entrances to the Arctic cave, and the snow leopards ridge, along with a natural ice slide. Mythica noted nervously the cracks in the rocks by the geysers as she slid into the cafe. She had agreed to meet her friend Airianne there as well as Razor, the night before. She slid onto a cushion by the fire. The cafe was small and rectangular, about the same size of her bed room. It had two tables holding cups and lanterns and pots along one wall, and sacks of cocoa and coffee beans in between them. Behind one table in the corner was where the cheery barista sat, tacking orders and serving cakes. Along the other wall was a rack of spare cups, of all different sizes, a row of bricks with bottles and teapots on( and for some reason, a hammer). In front of the row of bricks was a small table for customers, two sacks of Siy beans and, most magnificent of all, a hot chocolate machine. At the far end of the room, by the bar, was a humongous fire place, and scattered on the floor was ten or so assorted pillows and cushions. The door opened with a blast of cold air, and in walked a pink snow leopard wearing a weird hat with confetti falling off it. It was Mythica's best friend Airianne.
" Ugg it's cold out there" Airianne commented, plonking herself down onto a pillow by Mythica. "Nice cape Mythi" she commented, using Mythicas nick name.
"Thanks. Shall we get some hot chocolates? There's no need to wait for our last guest."
" Who are we waiting for?"
"A leopard called Razor. I met him last night"
" Ahh"
They went over to the hot chocolate machine, and made themselves drinks, before sliding the money for them onto the baristas table. They sat gossiping for a bit, and Mythica told Arianne about what had happened last night. They both thought that there was something odd about the earthquake happening the same night that Mythica saw something moving in the chasm was not a coincidence, and something fishy was happening.
The door opened with yet another blast of icy air, and Razor walked in, wearing earmuffs, winter boots, and a woolly jumper, which seemed to have been knitted by himself, as it read 'Razor is a spirit stomper'.
He got a hot chocolate, and cane to sit with them and Mythica introduced him to Airianne.
" Did you guys hear? There was and earthquake round here last night! Do you think that it had anything to do with what you saw last night, Mythica?" He asked
" Yeah I do, but I thought u didn't believe in the chasm spirit" she accused.
" Well yeah I didn't but..." he trailed of and shrugged, as if to say ' The evidence proves otherwise'.
Airianne then intervened, as it looked like Mythica was about to snap back " Why don't we go up to the ridge, and have a look around?"
The others agreed, and they went to the ridge.

Mythica sat down on an orange cushion in the genies bottle part of the ridge. The three had chosen this bit, instead of the tellers den, because there were less people here, and you were less likely to be over heard. " I think that there is something stirring in the chasm" Mythica began"It fits with what I saw, and coincides with the earthquake"
Arianne interrupted " I'm sorry but you guys are gonna have to fill me in here".
As quickly as they could, without missing anything out, they filled her in. When they had finished, Arianne was silent for a moment before she said "I'm gonna have to see this for my self. I'm going down to the ledge". And, before the others could stop her, she had marched down the slope and onto the ridge. The other two scurried after her to stop her from doing anything that might provoke any ancient spirit, but were a bit late. With Arianne, you can hardly ever stop her. She was standing at the edge, and opened her jaw wide to shout. " Oi! Spirit guy! We know you're down they're!" She went to say more, but at that moment, a huge tremor shook the earth, and they nearly fell off the edge. They screamed, and the earth shook more. As they fell towards the gaping abyss of the chasm, the earthquake stopped. They got cautiously to they're paws, and looked around.
"That settles it" Arianne said, peering over the edge"There is a spirit or ghost or something down there causing earthquakes." The other two joined her in peering over the edge, trying to spot a spirit. Not that any of them new what a spirit looked like.
"Oi! Razor! You and your friends Get away from the edge, it might be weakened from the quake" A voice shouted. They looked up to see an old snow leopard woman looking down at them from the tellers den. They scurried up. "Hello Grandma" Razor said.
