You walked up the Inn stairs looking for a certain adeptus. Just as you thought there he was sitting on the railing. You walked up and just leaned on the railing.
"Hey Xiao I have some news." He looked down to you and said "Yea what is it?" He looked confused. You didn't want to say it but you had to. "I'm leaving Liyue."
Those 3 words broke his heart. Xiao always thought you would be by his side. You said that to him yourself. He had so many emotions and words to tell you but instead he stayed stone cold and said, "When do you leave?" He thought if he could just keep his emotions bottled up he would be fine. "Oh I leave tomorrow morning." That's what broke him.
"Why...?" those were the only words that could escape his mouth. You were confused by his reaction. "Why? He should know why." "Xiao you already know why. Rex lapis is taking me to meet Barbatos. Barbatos requested to meet the new adeptus. So I have to go." He just looks at you and gets down from the railing. He has a sad look plastered onto his face. "Xiao what wro-" He pulled you into a tight hug. You slowly hug back.
"Xiao what's wrong?" There was just silence. He wouldn't speak. You both just stood there in each others arms. The only thing that could be heard was Xiao's small whispers saying
"Please Don't leave me."
