Chapter 8: Son and Daughter

Hmm... I'm awake but I don't want to rise and be truly awake. It feels so nice to sleep here in this soft and cozy bed. The room smells like lavender. It feels comfy that it makes me drowsy and want to sleep again. I opened my eyes and I saw myself in an unfamiliar room. I'm 100% sure that this isn't Therondia's dormitory. Then I remembered that I was currently staying in the palace of Kingdom Caspian.

I was about to stand up and fix the bed when the maids entered the room with a huge tray filled with different foods. The maids made me choose what food I want to eat but I shook my head no because I'm shy. This treatment is too much. "It's the queen's order to feed you. That's why you have to choose which one do you like to eat." one of the maids said which left me with no choice but to choose. These foods look so expensive and of high quality that I do not deserve them.

In the end, I chose the tapsilog with hot chocolate and mangoes as a dessert. This is only breakfast but it can suffice the full course meal. They were about to take the spoon to feed me but I refused. I can feed myself fine. The food in this world is indeed delicious. After I ate, I went outside my room and explored the palace since Reyna Barbara permitted me to walk around. Yes, her name is Barbara, she introduced herself after she fed me yesterday. I need to find Prince Sinag. He needs to apologize to Queen Marikit because of his nastiness. I opened every door in the palace but there is no sign of him. The doors that I haven't opened yet are the ones with the biggest door which I assume is the room of the king and queen, and the one beside it with a "Do not open" sign.

I know this is an invasion of privacy but my conscience won't let me be at peace if I don't see what's inside the door beside the King and Queen's room. I slowly opened the door and peaked. I saw a neat and organized blue room. I saw a sword hanging over the bed's headboard. I went inside and opened the cabinet. There I saw a ton of tunics. I can say that this room is nicer than the one I'm currently staying in.

I still can't see the prince. He should be in the dungeon for doing something so evil. I got tired finding him inside the castle. I decided to go out of the castle and search for him on the rest of the Caspian's land. No one caught me going out which is good because I know the guards won't let me out. I explored the area but I don't see the prince. Where could he be?

I was about to walk away and explore a different area when I felt a presence near me. I looked back but I saw no one. I was about to ignore it when I felt it near me again. I can feel it walking. It's as if it's telling me to follow it so I did. I followed where my intuition tells me to go and it took me to an ordinary tree. Why did it lead me here? As I asked that question on my mind, the wind blew through my face. It's a calm breeze in which you'll crave for more. This world is too good to be true, I only see these kinds of settings in books and movies. I was tired from exploring the area so I sat down and lied. The breeze makes me want to sleep so I closed my eyes to rest. The grass here isn't itchy unlike in Manila, in fact, the pointy grass here massages you as you lie on it. As I was about to get my sleep when I heard 2 guys scream.

"MILADY! WAKE UP!" I panicked and stood up. Who wouldn't panic if someone shouts at you? I faced the direction in which I heard the scream, and there I saw Baron and Cedric. Baron hit Cedric at the back of the head after he saw me panicked. "You scared her! I told you to be gentle!" Baron lectured Cedric for shouting. "Milady, Queen Barbara is looking for you already. She's worried about you. You need to go back, I'll guide you." Baron offered to help me. "What do you mean you'll guide her?! I'll be the one to guide her!" Cedric resented. They were debating and fighting on who will guide me to the caste.

Because they're busy fighting, I stood up and began to walk away. I'll find the castle myself because I'll be stressed out if I'm with these two guys. A little while, I heard them running towards me. So they decided to accompany and guide me together. Ah there, peace.

"This is your fault! The girl left us because you scared her!" Baron blamed Cedric. "This isn't my fault! The reason why she left us is because you were giving her a headache!" Cedric debated. 

Or maybe there won't be peace. They were still fighting. That's what they did while we were walking towards the castle. Aish! This is stressing me out but I can't shout since I still don't have any voice. 

The moment we arrive at the gates of the palace. The guards let me in but they blocked the two guys who were fighting but now stopped doing so since the guards were hostile. As I went inside, the queen saw me and she immediately ran towards me. "Where did you go? What did you do? Don't we suffice your needs? What do we need to do for you not to get out of here because something bad might happen to you?" I can see that she's really worried. I couldn't answer all of her questions since I still couldn't speak. The queen then took me to the room and she said that the maids already drew my bath. She told me to take one before I rest. 

As I went inside the bathroom, I saw a bathtub filled with water and bubbles. I removed my clothes and stepped inside the bathtub. This is so refreshing! I didn't experience this kind of bath ever. In Manila, I use tabo for taking a bath. I stayed there and tried to sleep. I took a short nap and went out to dry myself. I saw a newly sewn dress made from silk. Wow, I must be special. I wore the dress and combed my hair before I went to bed. I was about to lie down when the queen went near me.

"I thought something bad happened to you. I was so worried." She paused and began to speak again. "I know you're thinking why am I giving you such treatment even though I hardly know you. I honestly don't know. Maybe because me and my husband haven't had a daughter. We only had one son." I started to listen when I heard that she's talking about her son. That's Prince Sinag for sure. I need to know the details about him. "I took care of him, me and Crisanto loved him since he's our only child. He was energetic, he always jokes, he has this carefree personality that's why the palace, especially me and Crisanto, adapted to that kind of nature." she paused again. "But then-" She didn't continue what she was saying because someone cut her off. 

"Your highness, Caspian High School needs your presence." One of the maids said. Queen Barbara nodded and tucked me. "Don't leave again." she told me before she went out of my room.

That was a cliffhanger. What happened to Prince Sinag? I really want to know.
