"Why were you looking"

(REWRITTEN)

Y/n looked up at her mom feeling her angry eyes burn holes into her skin, she closed the door with a soft click. The older women lifted her arm pointing an accusing finger her way "who were you just with you little harlot!" She seemingly screeched causing y/n to sigh glumly at her tone

Y/n looked down at her shoes, she felt  her heart beat quicken, "just a friend from school, they wanted to walk me home since it was late" she attempted to defuse the ticking time bomb known as her mother. 

The older woman's heavy footsteps neared as she walked over, pulling her arm back before bringing it down sharply so it made contact with her cheek causing the area to turn an angry shade of red

"I had a long day at work and I come back to see my daughter with some boy who's she's probably sleeping with?!" She ranted her voice reaching the level of hysteria as she raised her arm to slap the younger girl again this time making her loose balance and fall to the ground.

Y/n bit her lip definitely ignoring the burning feeling building in her throat, she kept her gaze to the floor steadying her breathing, m/n walked over her eyes cold yet crazed she walked over low chuckles escaping her lips. 

"You're ruining our reputation!" She yelled bringing her food to y/n's side, the repeated action causing y/n to bite her lip as she attempted to ignore the pain that ebbed from her side, a trickle of blood forming on her lip where her teeth made contact

M/n  back releasing a large breath of air her chest heaved as she smoothed the wrinkles in her button up shirt, she smoothed out her slicked back bun and glared down at her "clean up whatever mess is down here then go to your studies" 

She turned away to her room and slammed the door, y/n sighed and lifted herself up with a small wince as she gingerly touched her side before mentally scoffed. She changed into her indoor shoes and began to surface clean the living room "Ugh..this is so stupid" she mumbled walking over to her room to begin studying for tomorrows work

Sleep didn't come easy for y/n that night causing her mood to dampen as she exited her house beginning her usual walk to her school. Today didn't feel like it was going to be very productive causing her to release a low sigh

She felt a presence slide up besides her and she adverted her gaze "yo" haru greeeted lazily his fingers interlaced on the back of his head as he stared at her with his usual placid expression, she mentally braced herself for what she was about to do, and took a deep breath 

"Morning Hatsuharu, I'm sorry but we shouldn't talk anymore. I'd appreciate it if you made this simple on the both of us and you distanced yourself immediately, you and your cousins and friends" she said sternly before walking off briskly allowing him to absorb what she had told him

She entered the school ignoring everyone who bothered to greet her as she walked to class sitting in the back of the class instead of her usual spot ignoring the looks from her former friends as she did. 

She rested her head in her hand as she gazed at the teacher, her eyes trained on them but her mind elsewhere, she then looked down at her desk "they were right I shouldn't have friends" she mumbled quietly to herself before looking back at the teacher 

She ignored the Sohmas to the best of her ability and their friends as she could, she sadly turned down a lunch invitation with matchi. She felt guilt claw at her mind but she ignored it, she knew that it would be hard but it was for the best. Still she felt bad for abruptly abandoning them. 

She decided to eat outside by herself underneath a large tree casting a cool shadow over the grassy ground, she enjoyed the warmth of the sun as she picked at her meal not feeling all too hungry at the moment. 

She heard the crunching of grass and looked up at haru as he neared running a hand through his bicolored hair. "What's your deal today, and with all that stuff you said earlier?"   He questioned 

She turned her gaze away opting to ignore his presence completely, he sighed and sat besides her lifting his leg up to rest his arm on it as he leaned back resting on the trunk of the tree. "Ignoring me doesn't work, I can sit here all day"

She bit her lip and fiddled with her chopsticks, she could hear the edge of irritation in his tone and she didn't like it, she would love to continue the friendships she made but sometimes you didn't always get what you wanted. 

"Please leave me alone" she said her tone even as she kept her gaze on the seemingly endless horizon. She felt him shift closer "why?" He asked staring at her his dark eyes boring into her skin. 

She sighed softly a bittersweet smile on her lips, "my parents aren't to happy" she said simply hoping that it didn't give too much away, resisting the urge to brush her fingers along her bruised cheek that she covered with powders and makeup. 

Haru shrugged "so" he said in a duh tone like not listening to them would immediately solve all her problems. She gave in turning to look at him"I can't just defy the" she retaliated pointedly 

He stood up offering his hand, "come on" he said and she hesitantly took it, his palm warm in her seemingly cold one. "Why? Where are we going" she asked skeptically as he lead her up a hill. "Mystery" he said teasingly cringing her to deadpan 

"If I miss class your going to be six feet under haru" she said sternly lifting her foot to avoid a stray branch, the grassy hill was covered in an array of small vibrant flowers and flowing grass. "Calming here right?" Hatsuharu asked looking at the little bustling town

"It's nice but I can't stay, and I shouldn't be talking to you" she said softly hoping that he would let her go easily then try to convin Her to stay with him longer. She watched him plop onto the ground the sun shining on his frame as he laid back on the grass staring up at the clouds with narrowed eyes. 

"Chill, we still have like twenty minutes" he said with a lazy grin, she huffed sitting besides him, he turned his attention to her. "I want to know you" he said and she felt her cheeks warm "like what? I'm not interesting" 

He gave shrug, "let's just walk about random things" she chuckled at this and the two began to ramble about random things, as they quickly discovered each other's interests. Clouds casted a cool shade over the ground that they relished in before they both got up to walk to class. 

She saw a small orange cat and dropped to sit in a squat position, "Awh" she cooed holding er hand out for the small furry creature to sniff, it hissed and ran away but she quickly jogged up to it, and held onto it as it wriggled in her grasp. 

Haru raised an eyebrow at it and it slumped in her arms as he chuckled, "look haru isn't he cute!" She said petting the cat gently, she could practically feel the cat sulk as haru gave a small smile "adorable." He replied but it seemed almost mocking

Soon yuki and Tohru joined them infront of the school looking between the cat and her, the brunette had a nervous expression on her face "oh I see you've found my lost cat" yuki said b deadpanning 

She looked at him curiously "he's yours?" Yuki shrugged "well not exactly, I've seen him around for a while so I leave food for him isn't that right Honda" he lied smoothly nudging the girl who nodded quickly in agreement

Y/n smiled "Awh well I wish I could take him home but my parents don't like animals" she set the bristling feline down. The others watched in amusement as kyo withheld a string of curses. Yuki made a subtle gesture to Honda to take y/n away 

"Y/n we are going to be late for class!" Tohru said grasping her hand as y/n cursed underneath her breath "oh your right, see you whiskers!" She called to the orange cat who seemingly rolled its eyes at her. 

That left the two boys and the boy who had transformed as a cat in the little alleyway next to the school as they all deadpanned "stupid cat" yuki said a grimace on his face as kyo stood his fur bristling "shut it ya damn rodent" Haru grinned mockingly as a puff of smoke surrounded them

"your impressive kyo but Im bigger" 

"Why are you looking ya dam pervert!"
