Semi and Shirabu's mother were as quiet as can be. They sat in the room waiting for Shirabu to wake up. It's hard to describe the tension in the room, but one could feel it upon simply walking in. Semi sat texting his sister about the entire situation.
He wasn't in much of a talking mood unless Shirabu's mother asked him something in which he'd answer.
Meanwhile, Shirabu's mother had a brief call with her sons updating them, and asking them to please sleep.
Besides the little taps of semi's fingers on his phone, and the machine's hooked up to Shirabu, everything was silent.
"Semi, you should head home and rest. It's getting late." Shirabu's mother said giving the boy a soft, tired smile.
"I appreciate the thought but I'm not leaving him. Not until I know he's okay."
She nodded knowing exactly how it felt to see the one you love so close to gone. When shirabu's dad got in a car accident he was put in critical condition. She felt so broken watching her husband hurt, and she broke, even more, when he couldn't hold on to life any longer.
She didn't think she'd have to deal with this again though.
She stood up.
"Semi take care of my boy, okay?" She said while grabbing her bag and jacket.
"Are you going home?" Semi asked, how sitting up straight.
"Itsuki and Kaito deserve a proper explanation. Plus Kaito is panicking and Itsuki doesn't know how to deal with such emotional breakdowns."
"Are you going to bring them?"
"Maybe, if Kaito can handle it."
Semi nodded. "Drive safely. I'll call you if anything."
"Thank you Semi. Please make sure to drink or eat something." She said opening the door and walking out. Leaving Semi alone with a sleeping Shira.
Semi stood up and took a seat on the bed next to Shira.
"Your selfish, you know that?" Semi asked softly.
"Making your brothers and mother worry like that. You know they really care about you, right?" Semi asked now looking away from the pale boy.
"So why, why not save yourself the moment you knew? Why am I worth dying for?"
Tears ran down Semi's face as he finished his sentence. Most people get so happy when their significant other said stuff like that, but it only pissed Semi off.
"If you love your family you wouldn't have surrendered so easily. If you love me..." Semi dropped his head, allowing it to rest in his hands.
Every second felt like an eternity. He didn't know what to do. Not that there was anything to do besides wait.
Wait for the person that holds his heart.

4:20 am
Semi slept with his head resting on the bed Shirabu laid on. His dreams were all about the copperhead. He couldn't escape it, even in sleep.
Semi woke up to the sound of ruffling and Monitor beeps. He rubbed his eyes and yawned before seeing the copper-head trying to sit up.
He froze.
"Sorry, didn't mean to wake you," Shirabu said looking at the ash-blonde. Semi's eyes grew wide. He slowly moved his hand to Shirabu's head, trying to figure out if this were a dream or not. He laid his hand on Shirabu's messed up silky hair. It wasn't fake, and if it was it felt really real.
