Chapter 5

"Just tell us what happened already!" Sawyer whined, jumping to sit next to Nova. "Okay okay! If Veronica would like to turn down that video of Kenny speaking." Veronica heard her name, and of course Kenny's and looked up, curious. Sawyer reached across to the other bed, snatching the phone from Veronica's hand. "Excuse you!?" she cried as she began to reach over.

"Have you heard anything that Nova has said!?" Sawyer asked. "Of course... but just to make sure I was right, you should repeat it." Veronica chuckled, making Nova groan. "I was just about to tell you what happened on my DATE." her teeth clenched, as she noticed Veronica secretly reaching for her phone again. "Don't even think about it." Sawyer swatted her hand before locking the phone. "Continue Nova."

"Thank you Sawyer, at least someone here actually cares. So he took me to a bowling alley, very aesthetically pleasing," Nova looked at Sawyer, who already looked uninterested, "I'm not done! Don't make that face. Anyways, we made a bet and if he won he could take me on another date. But if I won he would leave me alone about Team Taz...and I lost on purpose," Veronica and Sawyer started squealing and cheering, "He was just so sweet and the night went so well; I couldn't pass up the opportunity."

"Well, you can thank Sawyer." Veronica said, reaching over and nudging her friend.

"Who knew Ricky Starks could be so romantic?" Sawyer questioned as they laughed. "I don't know, all I know is I had a lot of fun." Nova blushed making them holler. "Oh my god. Are you falling for stroke daddy?" Veronica smirked, making Nova turn her face. "I THINK SHE IS!" Sawyer yelled while jumping off the bed. "Would you guys SHUT IT," she swung a pillow but missed, "It was ONE date. It meant nothing."

"Yea, until you see him tonight. You're going to be all over him, I just know it." Veronica squealed. Nova rolled her eyes before lacing her shoes up, "I could say the same for you," she grinned.

Dynamite

The ride to Daily's Place was a lot more chattier than usual. It contained constant comments about the trio's love life at the moment, and you could even hear laughter. It seemed like they were almost alright again.

Almost.

Veronica took her luggage from the trunk while Sawyer zipped up her bags. They cleared their throats before speaking up at the same time; laughing it off.

"You can go first." Veronica nudged before closing the door. "I felt like we haven't been completely on the same page ever since the night with Britt and Anna," she looked down at her shoes before speaking up again, "I just want to make sure there's no bad blood between us."

Veronica bit the inside of her mouth before crossing her arms, "We've always been good Sawyer. I could never actually hate you." she lightly chuckled.
"It just felt like..."

"Hey, is that Veronica?" a voice from behind them asked. She was met with hands around her waist and a scrunchy beard rubbing against her cheek before she could even react.

"I missed you so much." Kenny whispered in her ear, causing her to ease up a little bit. She melted in his embrace before turning around and placing a hand under his chin.

"I knew it was you!" Nick exclaimed while he and Matt walked over. "I think Kenny could tell as well, considering he's always staring at you from behind-"

"MATT."

Kenny jumped up and stared at his friend in disbelief. He raised his hands up in defense as Nick tried to hold back his laughter. Sawyer stood across from the four as they started joking around, she shifted uncomfortably until Nova came up from behind her. "Hey guys! I didn't know you were here." She gave them a quick wave before leaning against the car, "I had to make sure she wasn't late." Kenny joked while pointing to Veronica.
