The grief was too much to bear. I couldn't live like this, but I couldn't live without Keefe, either. The truth was: I needed him. I would even say that he was my best friend, even closer to me than Dex. But I have to get rid of the grief, I had to move on. But how?

Wait....

Could I?

No.....

Maybe.....

I have to try, nobody is here so I can do it with out hurting anyone.

After she finished her mental argument she decided that her plan was worth a try. It was dangerous but like I already said, nobody was present, so nobody would get hurt. She was going to try to inflict all her grief, pain, depression, sadness, and hurt into the empty room but before the emotion could return to my heart I would gather it into a ball and make it disappear. Then I could move on. But did I want to?

No, but for the good of everyone I had to. So here goes nothing....

"AUUUGHHHH" I wailed in pain as I worked all the emotions out of my system, and I saw all the different colored beams of light coming from my head. Red for anger, grey for depression, blue for sadness, black for pain, and white for hurt. I stretched out my concentration and willed the emotion/light/beams of destruction into a ball it grew bigger and bigger until it was as big as 3 elephants, she had so much pain, who knew that Keefe was worth all that trouble he was just her friend after all....right?

The ball of emotion was marbled with the different colors of her feelings. She let it rise higher and higher and just as she was going to be rid of all the pain somebody came into the room.

"Lord Cassius" she whispered, his ice blue eyes just like a certain someone's. And in a second she was back with Keefe, his ice blue eyes, his perfectly styled blond hair, his lopsided smirk, his perfect jawline, and his teasing voice. One that could be annoying and comforting. Secretly her favorite voice and it was gone. Maybe forever. Well not If she could help it.

Then the second was over. And that's when all hell broke free.

Sophie lost control of the orb. It exploded and sent a huge shockwave of pain into every nook of her mind, every. Single. Part.  It was so bizarre, one second she was so unbelievably happy, the next? She was sobbing on the floor. She was remembering and forgetting and remembering again. And something was wrong was happening with her , she was getting her foot stuck in the floor, her arm was disappearing and reappearing. And She could feel Lord Cassius's unease. She felt the sudden urge to build something with the bed pan, and she suddenly made a whole pan of mallow melt appear just by snapping her fingers. She could take control of Cassius mind with her mind or voice. She had manifested as everything - just no elemental abilities. She was unstoppable, unfixable - but for once she didn't mind being broken. Her freak accident was actually a gift. she had power, she felt good.

Sophie looked in the mirror and saw that the small gold flecks in her eyes growing bigger, until there was no more brown, just gold.

As she looked she saw herself differently than she had ever seen herself before

As she looked she saw herself differently than she had ever seen herself before. She started to see herself the way everyone else saw her: pretty, brave, strong, the most powerful elf that had ever lived. She was Sophie Foster, and she was going to find Keefe. There was nothing holding her back, she was the Moonlark after all.

And Sophie did what Gisla had told Keefe to do not a while ago: she embraced the change.
