The guys grab their towels and head outside to enjoy the lake.

Jin and I stay in the kitchen, going to the shelf I grabbed my grandmother's cooking book.

This book was her most prized possession and she left it to me when she passed away.

Many recipes that she taught me are in this book that her mother taught her and her mother's mother taught her mother.

It's generations and generations of amazing food recipes.

My favorite thing to do with her during the summer was make ice cream.

I am feeling nostalgic so the plan is to make this frozen treat to lift my spirits.

"This was my grandmother's recipe and it's super easy to make. I was thinking Cookies and cream Ice cream" I say to Jin who is jumping on the balls of his feet.

"That sounds amazing! What do we need?" He asks excitedly.

"Heavy cream, a can of condensed milk, and oreo cookies" I simply say.

He looks at me like he doesn't believe me. "Seriously that's all?"

I laugh at his reaction, "Yeah, that's all"

Jin gets moving to get the cookies and condensed milk while I go and get the Heave cream and a loaf pan where we will be placing the ice cream.

"Jin can you get the mixer?" I ask as I move to get a ziplock bag and begin to put the 14 oreo cookies in the bag.

"Okay! Do you want to work on the mixer or crushing the cookies?" I ask.

"I want mixer duty" he happily says.

"Okay, you need to put 2 cups of heavy cream in the mixer and whisk it to a stiff peak" I instruct him and Jin gets to work.

I on the other hand begin to crush all the cookies with a rolling pin.

"Okay, what's next?" Jin asks as he turns off the mixer.

I look to see that the heavy cream is a perfect consistency.

"It looks great, Now add a can of sweetened condensed milk to the heavy cream and mix it all together until it is corporate. Make sure to mix in low" I tell him.

Jin swiftly opens the can and follows my instructions to a T.

He is so talented and amazing at cooking.

In the short time he has lived here, he's been so quick to learn any recipe I teach him and today is no different.

He finishes mixing all the ingredients well so I pass him a rubber spatula.

Opening the bag I dump all the crushed cookies in the mix.

"I need you to gently fold them together," I tell him and jin gets to work as I clean up the counter.

Rinsing the can I throw it away. I clean the mixer and wash everything we used.

"Okay, what do I do next?" Jin asks.

"Just place the ice cream in the loaf pan, cover it, and put it in the freezer for 6 hours," I tell him.

"That was so easy!" He says in awe making me laugh.

"It's very simple but super delicious" I admit, gosh how I loved eating the ice cream my grandma made.

"Can we make more?" he asks super hyped of this new treat he learned to make.
