Amy allowed her hand to wander up Roy’s leg as she said, “I want to be here. I want to be with you…I want you Jeffery”. Roy wasn’t sure he should do what came next, but he pushed ahead without second guessing himself. He reached out and pulled Amy as close as he could and began to kiss her on the neck, working his way to her soft lips then back to her neck again. He wanted her to be closer so with swift movement, Roy pulled Amy onto his lap. His arousal already in full swing, as Amy settled upon his erection, the pressure between his legs grew. Amy let out another moan as their lips connected again and their tongues became intertwined.
The moment Amy settled onto Roy’s lap; she could feel the very part of him she now craved. Even through her jeans, the sensation, the force penetrating toward her core was unbearable. As Roy began to kiss her again, her moaning grew louder and more frequent. Amy was no longer able to control herself. Her need was peaking and she needed to find release. Roy, unsure how much longer he was able to contain himself, he stopped kissing Amy long enough to ask softly, “Amy…are you sure you want this? I don’t know how much longer I can hold back. I want you Amy, I want you so badly”. Amy took this declaration as a sign, a sign to push Roy until he couldn’t stand it anymore. Amy pushed down on Roy’s arousal with a rotating motion while kissing him, pushing him to the brink of having no self-control left.
Amy took to sucking and kissing Roy’s neck while he struggled to say, “Amy…..Amy…Please Amy, now is the time to stop if you have second thoughts”. Amy pressed her pelvis down harder onto Roy’s lap and said, “Do you want this?” Amy was almost gyrating on Roy, she wanted him to take her and she wanted him right then, right where they were. Roy lifted Amy off his lap and set her to the floor on her feet. He stood before her and asked again, “Are you sure?”. Amy slipped her shoes off and began to unbutton Roy’s pants. Taking Amy’s actions as his answer, Roy discarded his shoes and returned the favour Amy had bestowed upon him. He aided her in the release of her jeans until they were cast aside. Amy, anxious for Roy to remove his pants as well, began to push them down along with his underwear. The only thing between them from the waist down were Amy’s briefs. Roy began to kiss Amy, but she was becoming impatient. With one hand, she found Roy’s hardened need, wrapped her hand around it and began to stroke it with full intent to drive him over the edge.
Her plan worked; within seconds they were both fully exposed from the waist down. Amy pushed Roy back onto the couch to where he had been sitting only a few minutes ago and she proceeded to get back onto his lap where she was before he’d pushed her off. Only this time, she took her time. Slowly easing herself down onto Roy, she rose again, hovered above his arousal and came back down again slowly, teasing him into wanting more. With Roy calling Amy’s name while she teased him, she moaned in response. It wasn’t long and Amy couldn’t hold back anymore, not only was she teasing Roy, but she was also teasing herself. As Roy felt Amy press down harder on his arousal, he pulled her down hard as she called out his name and he felt her climax. Within seconds, Roy was sent into a state of ecstasy, releasing his need for her into the core of her peak. He never imagined sex could feel this satisfying. He held onto Amy as she caught her breath and he dared to whisper, “I could do this all night with you, but next time, you’ll be on the receiving end of the teasing, begging for more”. Amy figured she deserved that, so next time she’d do a better job in tempting him and leave him the one begging for more.
It was around eleven in the evening when Roy walked Amy back to the Inn. Amy was exhausted but happily so. At this point in the evening, she was hoping to get some sleep before her alarm sounded in seven hours. Amy needed to end her night with Roy or she’d resemble something from a horror movie for the breakfast shift. A big part of her wanted to spend the night in Roy’s arms, but her logical side knew, if she stayed in the cottage, there wouldn’t be a lot of sleeping happening. Creeping though the back door to the Inn, Amy said goodnight to Roy, hoping to prevent him from going up to her room. If he were to follow her up and into her room, the entire point of leaving the cottage would have been futile. Roy took his time kissing Amy goodnight. He didn’t want the night to end, but he knew they both had early starts and they both needed rest. Roy found it hard to let Amy go, but he walked away satisfied in knowing she wouldn’t be far away and he’d see her in a few hours.
Morning came quickly and with reluctance, Amy prepared for the day ahead. With thoughts of her time with Roy in the cottage running free through her mind, she found herself a little embarrassed and unsure what she would do or say if she saw Roy when she went down for breakfast. Opting to not find out how uncomfortable she might be or to be confronted with the possibility that Roy would act as though nothing happened, Amy chose to leave the Inn early and walk to the café. It was a chilly morning; Amy could feel the freezing temperature penetrate through her thick jacket. Her jeans felt like they were made of ice, so she picked up the pace to a power walk, longing for the warmth of the café.
When Roy entered the kitchen inside the Inn, he expected to see Clara and Amy sitting at the small table having a chat, but it was only Clara, sipping a hot cup of tea reading a book. Roy was hit with an unexpected feeling of disappointment. “Has Amy come down for breakfast?”, Roy asked his Aunt. “Pretty sure I heard her leave early, it’s just you and I again”, Clara returned. Roy had lost all interest in cooking now and checked in with his Aunt if she was hungry. “I’m fine with my tea, you go. Have a good day, don’t let Teddy get to you, it’s nearly over, the festival is only two days away”. Clara’s reminder of the impending festival put a little positivity back into Roy’s day. Today was the last day before the festival, everything had to be finalised before dark. This also meant, today was his last chance to ask Amy what he should have the day before, only, he’d been distracted.
Without a moment more wasted at the Inn, Roy’s thoughts were on Amy and that she’d clearly chosen to walk to town. Hoping she was no more than halfway to the café, he got in his truck and heading out to find her and offer her a lift the rest of the way. As he drove down the road, headed for main street, he was searching everywhere. His disappointment grew as he got closer to the string of shops on Main street. His hopes were dashed as he approached the café and saw Amy open its door and head inside. He’d missed her. He wasn’t sure what the day for him would be like, Teddy was sure to keep him on his toes until sunset. Driving away from town to pick up Andy and Teddy, all he could think about was stealing away during the building of the stage to get over to the café for lunch.
Amy wasn’t quite herself and Ruth picked up on the change straight away. When things became quiet and the breakfast crowd had gone, Ruth pulled Amy aside. “Is everything alright dear”, she asked in a caring tone. Not knowing what to say, and not particularly sure what she was feeling, Amy was somewhat lost for words. “I’m fine. Just feeling a little tired today”, it was mostly lies but she wasn’t about to tell Ruth she’d possibly made a huge mistake by going inside the cottage with Roy, allowing her hormones to take control of her abilities to act rationally and have sex with someone she may never see again. Thinking about when she leaves Cedar Bay and the distance that would be between herself and the town, and Roy, her actions the night before made her feel foolish.
Throwing herself into preparations for the lunch rush, Amy hid herself away in the kitchen. The set up for the festival was happening for the rest of the day and there was an expectation lunch would be nonstop. Amy began to prepare an obscene amount of sandwiches. Some were for customers, the rest for the volunteers who had been rallied to lend a much-needed hand, not only to set up booths, rides and a petting zoo, but all the barricades for the neighboring streets. Amy had only got about halfway through the plethora of sandwiches when someone walked into the kitchen. Focused on her job, she ignored whoever had walked into the kitchen, until she heard his voice.
“Amy, I was hoping to see you this morning, I had something I needed to ask you”, Roy had no time to waste so he jumped right in without even so much as a hello. Amy looked up at Roy, standing on the opposite side of the bench she was preparing food on and expected the worst, so she said, “It’s okay. I’m fine. Last night shouldn’t have happened. It was my fault. You’re off the hook”. Roy watched as Amy looked back down at the sandwiches she was making. He was confused and was feeling a little hurt. “What are you talking about? You think last night was a mistake?!”, Roy asked with a bit of an edge. He was now paranoid he’d taken things too far and what had happened between them, Amy didn’t want after all, like she’d changed her mind halfway through, or maybe once she’d gone up to her room had instant regret.
“Amy! Talk to me”, he begged as he watched her ignore him and ignore his questions. “Amy! Stop!”, he grabbed her hand that held a butter knife in an effort to force her to look at him. “It’s okay. You don’t have to feel bad about last night. Like I said, it was my fault, I wasn’t thinking. You don’t have to feel guilty about anything, that’s all on me”, Amy said and tried to free her hand but Roy wouldn’t let go. “Maybe you regret last night, but I don’t. But if you think I took advantage of you, I have no words to express how wretched that makes me feel. I didn’t come in here to discuss last night. I wanted to ask you to be my date to the festival tomorrow”, and with that said and having Amy’s full attention, he let her hand go.
“You don’t regret last night?”, was all Amy wanted to know, whatever else he’d asked, she wasn’t listening. “Of course not! I was hoping you didn’t either but now I’m thinking you do”, Roy was full of concern and trying to hide the hurt he was feeling and considering the possibility Amy didn’t care for him like he did her. “Oh…”, was all Amy could say as her mind ticked over the thought, perhaps Roy did truly care about her. With thoughts of Roy wanting to erase what had happened between them subsiding, she thought to herself, ‘What was the other thing he said?’. Roy continued in Amy’s silence, “I don’t have long, I only had enough time to come into the café and ask if you would be my date at the festival tomorrow”. ‘Oh! That’s what he said’, she thought, but realising she wasn’t actually giving a response.
“You sure you’re ready for the town to start talking about you spending time with a girl from out of town? Are you sure you want to expose yourself to that kind of gossip?”, Amy asked with skepticism. “I’ve told you already, I don’t care anymore what anyone else thinks. I know what I feel and I’m not going to hide”, and he leaded across the narrow bench, gently pulling Amy’s face closer to give her three quick kisses that were soft and full of care, a touch of passion and with a feeling of something more that melted Amy’s heart. “So? Is it a date? Will you go to the festival with me?”.
Amy didn’t exactly accept the invitation, but she said she’d think about it, and with a satisfied smile from Roy, he was gone again. Amy’s thoughts and feelings were getting jumbled up between what she was feeling, what she thought she should be feeling, her expectations and her doubts. She was being torn in two completely different directions. She needed to shut off her brain, her overthinking and take one thing at a time. However, it was easier to tell herself that than put it into practice. Her inevitable departure from Cedar Bay weighed heavily on her mind. It was too much to shake off.
Once the lunch shift was over, Ruth and Amy headed out to the festival set up to help Sandy with the decorations. While busy hanging string lights, banners, bunting and other assorted brightly coloured streamers, Amy heard someone call out her name. When she looked up, she saw Terrance from Bomber Airfield striding towards her. Amy had been expecting to see Bob and her first thought was, ‘What’s Terrance doing here? I hope nothings wrong with Bob!’. Seeing the worried look on Amy’s face, as Terrance got close enough, he explained, “Bob had to go into the city last minute. A work thing. I offered to bring the advertising you asked for. Oh, and I also brought a stand-up sign for the Balloon Rides as well”.
Amy felt a rush of relief and excused herself from Ruth and Sandy to help Terrance set up the signs over at the raffle booth. Amy followed Terrance to his car where he began to pull out two stand-up signs and one large banner. Terrance carried one sign and the banner, while Amy carried just one sign as they headed back to the booth. The banner was strung up along the front of the booth and each stand-up sign stood either side. Amy took in how the booth looked and she was more than pleased with how well everything had come together. On the table of the booth, there stood a small sign for Clara’s Inn and the glitter wording on the board Amy had painted, was already drawing a lot of attention. Amy was so pleased with the look, she thanked Terrance for his help and gave him a huge hug to show her appreciation.
Roy had noticed Amy come out from the café with Ruth. Quite often, he would look up from building the stage to catch a glimpse of her. The stage was nearly done when he heard someone call out Amy’s name. Looking up, he saw Terrance from the Airfield heading towards Amy with a stupid big smile on his face. Keeping an eye on the man who was now standing way too close to Amy, he stopped what he was doing, just waiting for Terrance to lay a hand on her. He was ready to step in at the first sign of Amy being taken advantage of. He didn’t trust that Terrance one bit! He watched as they set up signs at the raffle booth, at one point he swore they touched hands. Roy had no doubt in his mind Terrance had made the connection on purpose. He could feel his blood begin to boil! Once the signs were up and Amy was taking a moment to stand back and assess the setup, Roy chanted in his head, ‘Off you go now, your job is done’, and with each time he repeated this in his head he became angrier as Terrance wasn’t going anywhere. The final straw was the hug!
There was more to that hug than Amy would have intended. Roy could see one of Terrance’s hands slip down towards Amy’s backside. Roy was furious! He dropped what he was doing with no thought other than wanting to punch the loose handed Terrance square in the jaw! With force in each long stride, Roy ploughed his way through the crowd to Amy, with only one thought in his head. He was going to drag Terrance away from her and give him a piece of his mind! Just as Roy was about to reach out and drag Terrance away by the collar of his shirt, Ruth had arrived by Amy’s side and immediately hugged Terrance hello, now the three of them were all chatting like long lost friends.
“Amy!”, Roy called out. With a huge smile, Amy turned and looked at Roy heading her way, but her smile was immediately replaced with a furrowed brow. Roy looked angry. Thinking back to the time at the airfield and how badly Roy had reacted to not only Amy’s skydive, but the hug she’d given Terrance as a thank you, Amy began to panic. As Roy was almost in arms reach of Terrance, one look at Amy’s panic-stricken face made him suddenly devoid of the anger he was feeling. He felt shame. He never wanted Amy to look at him like that, not ever. He’d stupidly allowed his jealousy to rear its ugly head again and it frightened Amy. He was going to have to think fast to fix this, now!
Slowing his pace, he racked his brain for something plausible as to why he was heading over to Amy. Then he thought of Ruth and how he’d asked her to allow Amy off the hook for any duties come the day of the festival. He had spoken to Ruth about how he was feeling towards Amy and he’d hoped to ask her to the festival, as his date. This was a setup; it was planned that Amy would be relieved of her volunteer duties to enable Roy to ask Amy on their first official date. Using this, he went with, “So, has Ruth given you the day off tomorrow? I’m still hoping for a yes to being my date”. Roy closed the distance between himself and Amy, leaned in and kissed her on the cheek.
