Chapter 3

"Hmm, no thanks. I like a little fight for it"

The Sarkos gritted its teeth in anger as it looked at you. "You scum! I'll kill you!" it yelled as it started to attack you. 

Dodging it it's attacked, you were making it impatient. "Stop dodge and let me kill you already!" it yelled again. Going in to punch you, you took its wrist and pulled it to your side. 

Yawning from boredom, you looked at the Sarkos on the floor and scoffed, "Honestly, you creatures should practice your combat more." you mocked the Sarkos. 

Deciding not to play anymore, you went to the Sarkos and dodged the attack and it did. But this time, you went to hold its neck and lift it from the ground. "Incinerate" you mutter to yourself as you watch the Sarkos burn into your hands. 

You turn around and see a red-headed girl, shocked and unable to move. "H-heeyy" you greeted and waved your hands. 

The girl was still shocked, so you had no choice. You went to point a finger at her forehead, "Sēcno" you muttered and teleported away from her. 

"She should forget what happened after that spell" you mutter as you start to walk back to Calli's apartment.

You quietly entered Calli's apartment because you remembered she would be streaming today. As you entered, Calli talked to her audience and told them you were her roommate but didn't state your name. 

"Hmm, she's really enjoying herself" you quietly said to yourself as you went to sit on her couch and read a book you brought. 

A few hours passed and you fell asleep on Calli's couch.

Eventually, Calli finished her stream and saw you sleeping in an uncomfortable position.

"This girl, I swear," Calli said to herself as she started to carry you to her bed.

But before she could even carry you, you woke up and looked at her.

You decided to crack a joke, "Prince charming?" you said as Calli suddenly hit your head with her fist.

"Ow! You didn't have to hit me that hard in the head!" you yelled at her which led to her scoffing.

"Yeah, whatever. Have you found a job yet?" she asked while grabbing a wine.

"Yup, I saw this building with a play logo-looking sign and they were looking for a manager," you explained.

Calli frowned her eyebrows, "Did they give you a paper?" she asked.

You nodded at her and handed her a paper stating that you were accepted at the company.

Calli froze when she saw what company you applied to.

"Calli... Are you alright?" you asked her.

"YOU IDIOT! YOU APPLIED TO THE COMPANY I'M WORKING AT!" Calli yelled making you shocked.

"Hey! Don't get angry at me! I didn't even know that that was the company you were working at!" you said crossing your arms and pouting.

Calli sighed in annoyance and handed you the paper back. "Anything else I should know that happened today?" Calli asked. 

You were quiet for a moment which made Calli get the hint that something not good happened. "[Y/n]?" she called out for you, making you snap back to reality. 

"One of the Sarkos came there. They didn't attack any human, but I already know that a few of them are here in the human world already looking for you" You explained to her. 

Calli was silent again, "If they're here to conquer this world, why look for me?" she asked. 

You were as confused as her, "I, unfortunately, don't know as well" you said to her. 

You stood up on the couch and stretched your body. "But don't worry, I won't let them get to you, I promised Death-sensei that I'd look after you," you said patting her head which made her flinch. 

"Shut up, I don't need to be protected anymore." She scoffed and removed your hand from her head.                                                                                                 

"Yeah yeah, whatever." You said rolling your eyes at her. 

It was already dinner time, and Calli said she wanted to eat outside. So, you agreed to come with her. 

"Ok, so this is a self-service ramen shop?" You asked as Calli was tapping her order. 

"Yes, this is exclusively for people who are too shy to order or introverted," Calli explained as she took her order. 

"Fancy for Ms. Calliope" you teased as you did the same thing Calli did when she was ordering. 

Calli scoffed and went to sit at a table for the both of you. "Don't get too excited now. Remember, you have a mission here, no?" Calli reminded you but you waved your hand to her signaling to not worry too much about it. 

"If one of those creatures is here, I'll sense them. But for now, there isn't anyone nearby with us" you reassured Calli as you took a sip of your ramen. 

Calli looked down at her food and sighed, nodding in agreement to your statement, she decided not to worry too much and decided to eat her ramen as well. 

The two of you eat in peace as you sometimes order some more. Calli has to remind you that she was the one who was paying to make you not order too much. 

Exiting the ramen restaurant, you let out a sigh of relief. "Man, those ramen were delicious" you complimented. 

"Too much that you almost hurt my wallet" Calli reminded you, making you nervous and guilty.

"Hehe, my bad Calli, I enjoyed too mu-" Just as you were about to finish your sentence, you felt a familiar aura near you. 

"One of them is here," you mutter to Calli, making Calli flinch and look around. 

You grabbed Calli by the wrist and went to squish yourselves to the crowded place. "[Y/n], don't you think they could still spot us here?"

Calli asked as you continued to drag her to who knows where. "I know, but we're just getting into a safer place to leave," you explained to her. 

Going into an empty alley, you teleported the both of you to an upper place to get a clear view. 

"Shit, I can't sense them" you mutter as you looked down to search for those creatures. 

Just as the both of you were losing interest, someone suddenly tackled Calli. It was laughing and tried to bite Calli, but luckily, she had her scythe summoned making it blocked stop midway. 

You went to kick the creature off of Calli and helped her stand up. "You wrench!" the creature complained as it was holding its stomach. 

You smirked at it while you were holding Calli, "You really think you can get her while I'm here?" you cockingly said. 

"You demons are nothing but pain in the asses!" it yelled at you. 

"Thanks, they do tell me I'm good with that" you jokingly said making Calli hit you. 

As you were about to fight it, 3 more of them came. "You think we'll let you leave so quickly?" it mocked you, laughing and summoning their claws."

"You're wrong for that little girl. We won't let you leave until we take that vessel back to our Highness" it said as it pointed at Calli. 

You were shocked, 'Vessel? Calli's a vessel?' you thought to yourself as it finally kicked on why they would go after Calli. 

"Too bad, you're gonna have to fight for that"
