✧༺♥༻∞ PART TWO ∞༺♥༻✧It's been exactly three months since that night. I haven't heard a word from Jean since, I blocked his number and made sure he can't get in contact with me. It hurt so much to sacrifice everything that could've been, especially because he felt the same way, but it had to be done. I had to put himself before me.
Even though only that much has passed, a lot of things changed in my life: I got a promotion and a raise a few days ago, meaning that I'll now take upon Mr. Ackerman's job as chief executive of our entire sector! He of course got a new higher rank, but it was still a huge honor to step up to my new position, now finally being the boss.
I also managed to save enough money to move into my own apartment. Yes, I finally got my own place: no more sharing a single bathroom with Historia and no more bickering over whether or not she can borrow my blouse, or if Ymir can "sleep over". The place was already packed up with beautiful furniture, so all I needed to do was make myself at home, quite literally. It was finally freedom for me, and a start of a new chapter in my life. Things were finally getting better.
All that also means that the interview with Jean was a massive success. Shock Talk was finally charting like never before, breaking several records in its categories. Things were slowly, but surely getting back to normal, and now we could finally recognize the Shock Talk that always was: that magazine I dreamed of working for since I was a dumb 13-year-old. It's truly been a trendsetter since the early 2000s, and now it was regaining that image.
Right now, I was moving my last box into my new apartment, letting out a little sigh as I dropped the box of heavy contents onto the wooden floor. Behind me arrived Hisu with some extra luggage, and my parents with some left over boxes.
Yes, my parents came along too.I've never been particularly close with them. They are divorced, but sometimes they meet up for mine or my sister's sake, or at least that's what they claim. We're the only kids my father had with my mother, although he has more with his ex wives and current wife. I never really met my step-siblings, as I don't even talk to my father much in the first place. Though, I already know why, he could never love me as much as them. And my mother... she never wanted kids in the first place, so my sister and I are just accidental mistakes to her.
It was still nice of them to help me today."I think this was the last one. Phew!" my mother wiped some sweat off her forehead as she put down the last cardboard box.
"Well, I guess that's it from us. Congrats again on the promotion, F/N! Your father always knew you could do it! I mean also, since I got fired from my last job, your help could come to a good use." ah yes, my father. Only cares about my accomplishments when he needs some money. It's at least somewhat better than my mother, who absolutely despises the fact that I work for a gossip magazine instead of as a, for example lawyer or doctor. I was still better in her opinion than my sister, who only worked as a waitress.
