It had been a couple of months since our favourite couple had said those three special words, and they hadn't stopped saying it since. The two had taken a drive to McDonalds and parked to eat their food, and to avoid everyone else.

"Max what do you want to be when you're older?" Ebony asked as she put down her food. After a long pause Max finally answered.

"A writer.." he whispered under his breath. "or at least something in the publishing business, I don't know, it's a stupid idea".

Needless to say she was shocked; on the outside, Max looked like your average "jock" or just a "gym lad", but it was clear he had ambitions other than becoming the next Don of the Morte D'oro.

"Maybe you could... I'm not sure how, but you can do it" she said trying to reassure him. Max turned away and looked at his ring with his family emblem engraved on it; "it's not that simple Ebony, I can't just leave, I don't have that choice" he said lowly.

Max and Ebony sat in a comfortable silence, both weighing up their options.

What if we leave? They both had thought of leaving whenever the topic of the Morte D'oro came up. They could easily take a plane and go to an island together, God knows Max had the funds for it, but what would their parents think? Max's parents would be heartbroken... well his mother would be. Ebony's mother would probably lose her mind. But at least they'd be together.

"How do you feel about mountains and cold weather?" Max asked after finishing his food.

"I'm not sure, but I wouldn't mind it" she said throwing their rubbish out.

"Let's go to West America specifically! We have a house there that I know you'll love!" He said holding his hand out, hoping she'd say yes.

"Max... it's literally like you read my mind" she said whilst reaching out to hold his hand.

And just like that there plan was in motion.

Over the next couple of weeks they carried on living their day-to-day lives; training, having meetings, chilling with friends, just being "normal". But in reality, they had been planning what flights they were going to take, undetected, and who they were going to tell, or if they'd tell anyone at all.

"Max are we really going to do this?" Ebony asked as they walked through the tunnels underneath their newly tree house, turned... well... to an actual wooden house. The tunnels were littered with fairy lights so they weren't blindly walking in the dark, the tunnels were hidden underneath the house through a secret entrance in the movie room.

"I thought we agreed, no backing out, come on Ebony we're so close, only a couple of more days and then we're out of here" he said holding her hand tightly.

"Yeah... no backing out, it's just... I feel bad not telling our mums, or even Alessandro, Enzo and Regina, they deserve to know that we're safe" she said whilst entering their planning room.

"We're gonna be fine, we can call them from a burner phone, I know Enzo has some hidden in his room, we can just take two before we go, okay? Don't worry" he tried reassuring her, kissing her forehead and hugging her lightly.

They had slowly been taking more clothes to pack their suitcases as to not be too bait, they had new copies made of their passports, as well as new identities.
