JIRO'S POV

My eyelids fluttered open, and I blew my hair out of my eyes.I jumped backward realizing that I had been on Kaminari. Part of me, at least. Kaminari looked away from me quickly, the opposite of what everyone else (minus Bakugo and Todoroki) was doing. Embarrassed, I leaned against the window, positive that I was blushing furiously. Kaminari as well. The bus errupted into chatter. I closed my eyes, desperate to fall back asleep and escape this world. Although sometimes, even then I'm not safe from my parents' deaths.

Mr. Aizawa said that we'd only be here for two days, which is why I didn't bring my instruments. Plus, we were living in the wilderness, supposedly for survival training. Yaoyorozu, using her quirk, crafted two tents. One for the boys (slightly bigger) and one for the girls. They were a bit bigger than your average tents, which made sense because there were ten of us. We went our seperate ways to get supplies, and once again, I was paired with Jamming-Way. I turned slightly pink at the thought of the bus incident. We were tasked with gathering water... if only it were that simple.

"Kaminari. There's a giant... thing coming in our direction." I whispered. Kaminari swiveled around to face me. "What?" he replied, confused. "Something's coming our way." I insisted quietly. I tried turning around, but my jacks were stuck. No, something was pulling them. Keeping me grounded so they could get to something. Wait. No. Someone. Kaminari. He was screaming. Quickly glancing over my shoulder, both of his legs were somehow underground. The entire left side of his face was cloaked in blood.

I sent all the sonic vibrations that I could at the thing trapping me. It let go long enough so I could yank my jacks free and run over to Kaminari. I was mainly powered by will, not physical strength. I don't have much strength. I stuck my jacks into the ground and shocked the thing that was holding Kaminari down. I grabbed Kaminari by the waist and pulled him upward. It didn't take much effort, but he was only half-conscious. I looped his right arm around my neck and ran.

We needed to get back to camp to help Kaminari. And we'd lost the thing, but I knew it would be back for him sooner than later. "Kaminari," I breathed, "Stay awake. All you need to do is stay awake. Stay with me. Kaminari!!" I was losing him. Fast. So I shocked him. I didn't want to have to, but it was the onyl thing I could think of. That gave me some time. But I could hardly run anymore. Both him and I were covered in blood, whether it was our own or each other's. "Stay awake. Kaminari, you can't pass out. Stay awake."

OJIRO'S POV

"Huh. We're the first ones back." I mused, observing the empty campground. I could tell Hagakure was about to reply, but she was interrupted by yelling. Jiro's yelling. Within seconds, both Hagakure and I were sprinting toward the location of the sound, roughly. On the ground, Kaminari was nearly unconscious, a badly injured Jiro leaning over him. I picked Kaminari up with my tail. "What happened?" Hagakure cried. Jiro was completely flushed yet somehow managed to look pale."A thing," she replied half-heartedly. "A thing grabbed Kaminari."

JIRO'S POV

Ojiro had sprinted away with Kaminari tucked into his tail as Hagakure helped me to my feet. I felt dizzy and it was mostly Hagakure dragging me back to camp. My ears were ringing and dripping with blood. I realized that I was more beaten up by that thing than I thought I had before. Everything started to go bleary, and Hagakure slapped me in the face. Really hard, too. "Wake up, Jiro!" she demanded, slapping me again. "If you go out now, you could die!" She slapped me again. Part of me knew that it was just a hyperbole, but the other told me that for once, Hagakure was being serious. I tried with everything in my power not to pass out, but even with Hagakure yelling and slapping me desperately, everything turned gray and faded out.

                                                                                ...

It was dark when I finally woke up again. Everything felt distant. I heard whispering. "You let her pass out?" Yaoyorozu. "I know. I tried so hard. I'm sorry. She just... slipped away somehow." That was Hagakure. Yaoyorozu sighed, then inhaled sharply. "H-Hagakure... she's waking up." "I can't believe I let her pass out! UGH! Stupid Toru!" "Quiet. She needs quiet." I inhaled and slowly opened my eyes. "J-Jiro. You're awake." Yaoyorozu said, interlocking her hand in mine. I smiled weakly, slightly nodded, and closed my eyes again. It was too much at once. I groaned. My head and ears were throbbing uncontrollably. "I was going to ask how you were feeling, but... I guess that answers it." Yaoyorozu whispered comfortingly. She squeezed my hand calmly.

"Kaminari," I mumbled, "How's Kaminari?" "Todoroki told me he was beginning to stir about an hour ago." Yaoyorozu replied gently. "Can I... uh, see Kaminari?" I found myself blushing a little, my thoughts tracing back to when I had fallen asleep on the bus. "Please, Jiro, you have to rest first. You're in a horrible condition. Rest, please." she told me. But Hagakure had a different opinion. "You seem awfully interested in Kaminari." she sing-songed. My face warmed, and I didn't dare sit up or open my eyes. "He was hurt back there pretty bad... I just wanna see how he's doing." My face warmed, and I didn't dare sit up or open my eyes. "He was hurt back there pretty bad... I just wanna see how he's doing." "Jiro, go to sleep, then I'll let you see him when you wake up." Yaoyorozu said soothingly. She brushed the hair out of my eyes. "But-" "Jiro," her tone was warning now. I caved. "Fine." I opened my eyes long enough to see the raven-haired girl smiling at me. Subconsciously, I curled around her for warmth and felt her arm rest on the side of my head gently.

                                                                                ...

THREE DAYS LATER

KAMINARI'S POV

My head hurt. My legs hurt. Somebody helped me sit up. It was Ojiro, who was supporting me with his tail. Jiro was sitting next to him, a relieved expression on her face. I wondered why she'd come her. After all, that thing was after me and it attacked her to get to me. She should be angry. Or upset, at least. "You good?" she quietly asked, so quiet that only I could hear. I nodded. She smiled and leaned back a little in her chair. I could tell something was wrong, though. Ojiro removed his tail out from behind me. Midoriya was behind him, taking notes and muttering to himself, as usual. That's when I realized that I was in a hospital. "It's been three days, bruh." Kirishima said. When did he get here?! Glancing around, I realized the whole class was crammed in the small hospital room. I was flattered; even Bakugo came.
