Naruto, Kiba, and I were sitting down stairs. Naruto was sitting on the floor with his big blue eyes wide and alert. Kiba was next to me and pretty close to. I felt my heart race.

Kiba turned toward me and my face became hot. “Naruto said you like me so I came to check on you.” I glared at Naruto, who was unaware.

“Why would you care about me? I mean I’m just me.” I chuckled a bit at that last part.

“Well because I like you as well. I have for a long time.”
“Yeah he’s almost always looking at you when you aren’t looking at him” Naruto blurted out the statement which made both mine and Kiba’s faces turn red. Kiba turned toward me again.

“I’ve liked you for some time now. You’re just so beautiful, but your _____ eyes are what make my heart race every time I see you.” His face got redder as he said the last part. He leaned closer to me and before I knew it his lips were pressed against mine. In a shocked state I let it happen, but when reality caught up to me I gently pushed him away. ‘He’s too perfect.’ I thought as I looked down at myself. ‘And then there’s me. Plus then there’s Kakashi…He seemed upset. I should go check on him’ my mind was having a tug-of-war between Kiba and Kakashi.

“What’s wrong, I thought you liked me.” In Kiba’s voice was confusion and hurt. Each word stabbed me in the gut.

“I do..But because I thought that you would never return those feelings I pushed them away and well…someone else has caught my eye. I can’t do that to him.” Never once did I look at him. “You should go…I’m sorry.” Reluctantly he stood up and walked toward the door.

“Ok, but if it doesn’t work out…..please be with me?” He had a hopeful smile on his face while Naruto was behind him mouthing ‘say yes’.

I said, “I’ll think about it,” as I hugged Kiba and waving good bye to Naruto. Once the door closed I heard a crash up stairs. My eyes widened as I thought about Kakashi. I ran upstairs and stopped in front of his door and waited for any more noise. Sure enough just a few seconds late a loud thump against the wall. I opened the door to find his once neat room, trashed. His lamp was on the floor broken in half, pictures of his friends smashed on the floor. The bed was a mess, and there was a hole in the wall. My eyes widened with horror. Kakashi was sitting on the bed, elbows resting on knees and his head hanging down. As I slowly walked closer to him I heard him softly ask, “What does he have that I don’t?” I walked up to him and bend down so I could look at his masked face. I smiled slightly and looked into his eye.

“Not me.” My voice soft and reassuring. It took a second for the words to register in his mind, but when they did his eyes lit up and I could see a smile underneath his mask.
