"I love you"
Those words continued to ring in my head months after they were first said. I was sprawled out on the couch thinking about my life and how far I've come from the incident at the Chunin exams. At some point I had drifted off but was woken up by a closing door as Kakashi walked into the apartment.
"__________ guess what? I have a mission!" I slowly open my eyes turn towards him with a tired look on my face. He sat a chair facing me and continued talking "I'm gonna be gone for two weeks." by this point in the conversation I had already sat up and the words were just starting to be processed."Two weeks? I'm gonna be here alone for two weeks, what if my scar acts up and I need the ointment?" He looked down and sighed.
"I asked Kiba, Sakura, and Sasuke to... Watch over you.. While I'm gone. "" You're letting Kiba watch over me? After what he did? Why not Naruto?"
" Naruto is away training with that perverted Sage, besides Kiba is strong, and so is Sasuke. I want you protected. " he kissed my forehead, "I have to go now. You be safe." He stood up slowly and looked at me for a second. "I'm gonna miss your beautiful _____ eyes while I'm gone." he walked upstairs and after a few minutes came down again "I love you ________. Don't you forget." with those words he left. For a couple hours I sat in silence trying to understand what just happened.
*Knock Knock Knock*
I came back to reality at the sound of knocking. I slowly stood up and walked to the door.
"I'm coming, calm down!" when I opened the door only to be tackled by a dog.
"Akamaru! What are you doing get off of her!" The dog promptly hopped off of me at the sound of being scolded. A hand pulled me up off the floor and helped me steady myself. "I'm real sorry about that _______. He usually never does that." Kiba scratched the back of his head and smiled at me.
"Where are the others?"
"Others? Oh! Umm I kind of went a head of them. They should be here in a bit. Also, I wanted to apologize for what I did a few months ago. I don't know what I was thinking. I'm really sorry." He was looking at the ground, his hands in his pockets and eyes closed, just waiting for the rejection.
"I forgive you." There was an awkward tension looming in the room. Behind Kiba in the distance I could see Sakura and Sasuke. Noticing me looking in their direction, Sakura waved at me and began a light jog towards me. Before long both of them were inside the apartment.
"Kakashi asked us to stay here for a few weeks, hope that's ok with you." Sakura's voice was always so kind and happy. How could someone so happy, like someone as gloomy as Sasuke. I look over at him and chuckle at the somber look he had.
"What's going on in your head Sasuke? You're always so solemn. I don't think I've seen you smile." I chuckle as he shoots another glare in my direction.
"You've never seen him in the middle of a fight then, have you?" Sakura chuckles as she sit's down on the couch. I sit next to her and Kiba and Sasuke sit on the floor in front of the couch. As they talk about recent missions they had, I find myself longing for only one thing. Him.
'Two weeks.' I tell myself, 'two weeks and he will be back.'
