Chapter 7

MATTHEW'S P.O.V

I pushed though the crowded and made my way to the front I jumped over the caution tape.

"Matt, were are you going?" Jason yelled

"I have to see if Sofia is OK" I yelled back.

He wanted to come with me but, I kinda wanted to go alone. So i told him to stay there. I ran to Sofia's house there was fighter fighter's running into her house. I went to go run inside but they pulled me back

"Let go of me" i yelled

"You cant go in there" he said pulling me away.

"SOFIA" I yelled.

The man said I can sit on the side walk across the street. I sat there with my head in my hands crying. What if they don't get Sofia out in time.

"We found someone" a man yelled.

There were holding someone bridal style,the person was covered in ashes, it didn't look like Sofia. I ran to go and look.

"Sofia" I yelled

"You know this young girl." a officer said

"Yes, i do" i said sniffing.

They hooked her up to a oxygen machine. I went and sat back on the sidewalk where i was able to see Sofia. I heard someone cough. I looked up to see who it was it was Sofia. I got up and ran to her

"She should be OK" the nurse lady said.

I looked down at her, she opened her eyes very slowly. I let a tear run down my cheek, she lifted her hand and whipped my tear.

"We will bring her to the hospital where she will stay over night, can you get in contact with her mother please." the nurse said.

I called my mom and told her what happened and if she call Sofia's mom and tell her we where on our way to the hospital. I got in the back of the ambulance to ride with Sofia.

"Is my dad OK?" she said looking at me.

"I don't know Sofia" I replied grabbing her hand because i was so happy she was OK.

We reached the hospital they put her in room 215. I sat in the chair besides her hospital bed. "Matthew" she said

"Yes, Sofia"

"Why were you crying" she said looking at me.

" I thought you were gone, I didn't want to lose you" I said rubbing her head.

"You cried for me?" she said putting her hand on my cheek.

As I went to answer her question... Her mom rushed into the room

"My baby, my baby Sofia" she said after opening the door with tears running down her cheeks.

I left the room so Sofia and her mom can have some time alone. After, a good 30 minutes her mom came out of the room

"Matthew thank you for taking care of my baby, she wants you stay over night with her." she said after closing the door and giving me a hug.

My mom brought me a bag of clothes and my laptop.

"What do you wanna do?" I said after walking into Sofia's hospital room and closing the door.

"I don't care" she said i pulled out my laptop

"Netflix?" i said pulling out my laptop.

She nodded, I put the laptop on her hospital bed and sat in the chair.

"What do you want to watch?" I said she pointed to The Fault in Our Stars.

I clicked play. I moved my chair closer and laid my head on the bed while she played with my hair. I felt myself start to fall asleep

"To answer your question from before I did cry for you Sofia" I said and my eyes closed
