"Demeter." Apollo says. "What do you mean by that?" I ask with a nervous tone in my voice. "It's nothing to be afraid of, Demeter is your mother, with that sign above your head she claims you." Demeter.. my mother? But she can't be. My mother is the woman I lived with my whole life. How would she react to this?! But she knows.. because if she never has been pregnant, she would know I'm not her daughter. Tears fill my eyes. "I- I don't want this, none of this. I just want to go home, to my family to Karisa." Apollo sees how devastated I am and hugs me, very tight. I can hear his heartbeat, feel the warmth of his skin, and his breath on my neck. "It's going to be alright Angel."
We went back to Dionysus, he was half asleep in the chair he was sitting in before I left. Apollo knocks on the table, Dionysus wakes up a shock. "What, when, how. Oh, you again." This man is really getting on my nerves, like really really. "Demeter claims Evangeline as her child." "Okay. Congrats, you're not as special as we thought you are." This man is thinking too much of himself, but I think he's a god too so I better not disrespect him. "I'm a demigod, I think that is kinda special." He laughed at me, I could even hear him snore a couple of times. "Yeah child. You have a lot to learn, now go to your cabin and meet your brother and sisters." My brother and sisters, I never had a brother or sister, well I think I have enough now. "Percy, bring her to cabin 4." The boy Percy who I met earlier today brought me to my cabin.
Percy and I walk inside, everyone looks at us, they all look kind but will they accept me? "Hey guys, this is Evangeline she's new, she's your sister so give her a warm welcome. A girl with green eyes and blonde hair walks up to me, "she doesn't even look like us. She has hazel eyes and brown curly hair. However, if Demeter says you're her daughter you probably are. So, welcome, I am Delphine." Delphine was right, to be honest, I didn't look like them at all, they all look the same, not even a little bit like me. "I know I don't look like you, but if our mother says that I'm hers it must be true. I would love to get to know you all."
Percy leaves the cabin, so now I'm just standing here. Everyone was already minding their own business. When I want to go upstairs a girl with pink hair runs to me. "You know, this house is pretty big, that was a long run, I'm tired. Sorry hi, my name is Lydia. And you're Evangeline everyone knows that, I don't even know why Percy introduced you I mean... And I'm already talking too much, sorry." She reminded me of Karisa, her energy. "You don't talk too much, to be honest. Your the first happy person I met here, everyone is so-" "Annoying? High class? Selfish? Fucking sarcastic? Think that they're all gods?! Sorry, this place hasn't been so fun for me, but now you're here everything's going to change!" We both laugh. "No worries I'll be there for you. How long have you been living here?" She counts the years on her fingers and then answers. "Seven years. That sounds very long, it is I guess." Seven years?! Without seeing her family, doesn't she misses them? I do already and I've only been here a day. "And you don't miss your family?" She looks sad at me. "My non-biological family died when they brought me here, we were under attack and I was the only one who survived. You're lucky that Apollo brought you, he even stays for you, he would never do that for just a demigod." She's right, I am lucky. Apollo and I were also under attack if that happened to me and my family no one would have survived. "I'm sorry that's sad to hear." I give her a hug, and she's all happy and jumping again. "Well, it's dinner time, so let's go." Finally dinner.
We all go to the dining pavilion, where are standing 12 tables and a pavilion. There are no walls or roofs around or above it, it still looks very beautiful. Everyone puts a portion of their food in the pavilion to donate to their parent, Lydia told me so. Then everyone starts eating.
"Hey Angel, how is your first day here?" I turn around, and there he is. To confirm something, he wasn't only that beautiful in the sun, he just is beautiful. Yes, Alexis. "Hey Alex, it has been great, thanks for asking." He smiles. "Hey Alexis, already claiming the new girl I see." A boy with blonde hair and silver eyes says, he probably is a brother of Annabeth they look alike, well the eyes and hair. Alexis blushes, and so am I. "Shut up, Deacon." He and a couple of others start laughing. "Well, I'll see you later."
Everyone wants to leave, but we hear a sound. It comes from a tree that was standing not a lot further. Everyone looks at it, scared. Delphine and Lydia are standing right before it. For a minute it was all silent, until.. the tree starts to fall. Everyone screams and freaks. Someone needs to do something!
I run to the tree and hold it with one hand. How? I don't know, I just followed my intuition. Everyone underneath the tree runs away. When I see that they're gone I push the tree away from the dining room, it fell back on the grass.
Everyone was looking at me, I felt so ashamed. But they didn't look at me because there was something between my teeth. It was because a hologram appears above my head, again. But this time it was a thunderbolt.
