Liams POV

I slowly rocked back and forth in my red rocking chair.

I looked out the window next to me and saw the bright blue lake glistening in the sun. The lake was really the only reason I bought this house.

I remembered all the good times I had with the boys here back in the day. How we would swim, and relax on the sand. Those were probably the best memories of my life.

Well, besides the ones with Zoey in them.

I had tried to find somebody like her, somebody as genuine, as kind.

But nobody compared to her. Nobody was the same.

I picked up a picture beside the chair.

I couldn't help but smile when I looked at her beautiful face.

The picture was of her and me together. I was kissing her cheek and she was smiling. We took this the day after we went on our first date. The one on the Ferris wheel where I kissed her at the top.

We looked so happy together. Our love so fresh, so new.

For a short while I traced the outline of her lips with my wrinkled finger. When old memories of her started flooding back in one after another, I set the picture back down.

My body was so tired now.  I was so worn down.

As much as I tried to remember only happy thoughts, I couldn't help but think of the day when Zoey died in my arms. Thinking of this all the time really tired me out.

My wrinkled eyes fluttered, begging for me to close them. Begging for me to take a nap.

But this time, it felt different. As though if I went to sleep my body would be too tired to wake up.

But my wrinkled eyes continued to flutter, and soon I gave in.

Closing my eyes I rocked myself to sleep.

As soon as I fell asleep, I was cast out of my body. I looked down at myself from above, and I couldn't help but notice how peaceful my last expression was.

In seconds I was blinded with a bright light, but as quickly as it appeared it was gone.

I looked down at myself. I gasped as I looked at my smooth unwrinkled hands. I was young again.

I looked down at my feet, and surprisingly I was standing on a white puffy substance.

I was standing on a cloud.

The sun was setting lower and lower in the sky, casting an array of pinks, oranges, and yellows.

I looked up and I saw a woman standing in the distance. I started to walk towards her curious as to who it was. Surely enough the gap between us was closed in seconds.

My eyes took a second to refocus on her facial features, but I quickly recognized the baby blue eyes that gave it away.

The woman was Zoey.

--------------------------

Without saying a word I pulled her to me and pressed my lips against hers. I held her closer to me than ever. This time I was never letting her go. Not again.

I placed my hands on her hips, and picked her up into my arms as she wrapped her legs around me.

I had forgotten how well our lips fit together. How they were just like puzzle pieces.

She brought her hands up to my cheeks, and I could feel her radiating smile as she pressed her lips harder to mine.

We stood there for what seemed like eternity.

After a long while she pulled away, her bright blue eyes staring into me. A wider smile crept onto her face as one sneaked its way onto mine as well.

"I've been waiting for you Liam," she said while giggling.

I placed her feet down on the cloud again.

"Where are we?" I curiously asked.

"We're in heaven, silly," she replied as she continued laughing.

Surely enough, as soon as she said that a large sign appeared behind her.

It read:

Welcome to heaven Liam! Have a great eternity!

I really was in heaven. This was a dream come true.

--------------

I smiled at the fact that Zoey was giggling. I had missed the sound of her laughter so much.

Zoey quickly noticed my smile, and when she did she suddenly she closed her eyes.

When she reopened them, there was a beautiful baby resting in her arms.

"Liam, meet Chelsea." she said as she handed her to me.

I couldn't help but stare at her heart-shaped lips and blue eyes. She looked just like her mother.

"She's amazing," was all I could utter out as I leaned over to give Zoey another kiss on the cheek.

Zoey stretched her hand out to mine. She grinned as her twinkly blue eyes peered at me.

"Come, let me show you around."

I let my face show a small smirk, and with my free hand I grabbed her outstretched one.

Hand in hand, we walked into the sunset together.
